Shawn's POV

Abrielle stormed towards me with a look of pure anger on her face.

"A-are you all right?" I asked weakly.

Shit, I did it again. I flinched when she grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door.

"Uh, where are we going?" I asked nervously.

"Home," she said through her teeth.

She pulled me along the beach, her sandals slapping against the wet sand.

I stopped, and spun her around.

"Abrielle!" I grabbed her shoulders.

"What?" She shrieked.

"Is this about Ricky?"

She suddenly relaxed, and sighed.

I led her under the pier, so she could tell me everything in privacy.

"Ricky cheated on me," she growled.

I can't say I was shocked. "No way!" I said with false surprise.

"It gets worse," she sighed, and sat down on the sand. Luckily, it was low tide. I sat down next to her.

"He cheated on me, with Carlie. Can you believe that?"

I sighed. "Yes, actually. I can."

She glared at me, but I put a hand softly in her shoulder.

"Abrielle.... You deserve someone so much better than Ricky."

She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and scooted closer to me. Despite the hot night, a chill ran down my spine.

"You're right Shawn," she said thickly. "I'm too cool for him," she gave a shaky laugh.

I looked her straight in the eyes.

And leaned in.
