Chapter 6

"Sky! Sky." I heard a voice call after me.
I turned around and saw it was Paris jogging towards me."

"Hey, Paris." I gave him a hug " how are you?"

"I'm good, what are you doing on this side."

"I'm just doing some shopping" I held up my bags.

"Oh-oh." He said "what's stressing you out Sky?" He asked as we walked into a near by park.

"What, no, I'm not stress." I said playing it cool.

"Girl, who do you think you're talking to." He said.

It's been a month since the office incident happened and working for Sane is really awkward. He's been trying to talk to me but I wasn't having it. It's was just business. He's such an ass.

"Fine." I said. "I'm thinking of quitting."
"What? Why?"

"I want to try something new I guess." I mumble.

"You guess? you've worked your ass off to be where you are today. I'm sure it's more than that." He said.

"Yeah, I know. It's just that, I don't know , maybe I'm overreacting."

"Yes you are, if you quit you're gonna have to start over."

"Yeah, you're right, I guess I keep this job and hopefully I get promoted by next year." I sighed.

"Hey." He grabbed my shoulder and shook me. "You got this. Stay and do what you have to do so you can no longer work for that ass hole."

I gave him a smile. "Thanks."

"I didn't get to ask you, but how did everything go with Natalie?" I asked knowing I didn't care.

"It went well, she said yes." He smiled
"Oh, that's wonderful," I said.

"But she doesn't like the ring I got her?" He said.

That's a sign right there but I don't want to be the one to tell him.

"Are you serious? That ring was beautiful Paris, you have great taste."

"Yea?"
"Yeah, if it was me I would be showing off." I said doing the single ladies dance.

He laughed at me then look at me a way he's never done before.

"But of course it's not me so." I shrugged my shoulders

"Right." He said. "I have to get going now."

"It was nice catching up with you Paris, thanks for the pep talk." I smile at him.

"Capline" I to make sure she was home.

"In here." She yelled back.
Capline was sitting on her bed naked.

I saw a pair of boxers on the floor.

"Who else is here?" I whispered

"SISTER!!!!" I turned around to find my brother standing in door way in a robe

"Not my brother." I turned to Cap and she shrugged.

"Syrus! Hey." I said giving him a hug. "You didn't tell me you were visiting."

"I tried to but you don't return my calls." He kiss my cheek and sat on the edge of the bed.

I looked between Cap and Syrus in disgust.

"Don't worry Sky we're not together." Cap said.
"It's just casual sex." Syrus said
"Right. I told you this before." Cap said grabbing her robe.

"Yeah, but but I didn't think you were serious." I said.
"Well." She shrugged her shoulders.

I left them in the room and went to my room.
I really need to start returning calls.

A few minutes later I receive a text message.

Mr. Berkly
We need to talk. I've given you enough space.

Me:
If it's not business then we have nothing to talk about sir.

Mr. Berkly
I never meant to hurt you Sky.

Me:
Hurt me? You think I'm mad about that? We are not even together. 😂 You should have just told me you had a girl, I didn't want to sleep with man that's already taken.

Mr. Berkly
Can we just start over?

Me:
That night was a mistake, nothing less nothing more. I'll see you Monday Boss.

The ones I want are always taken.
"WHY MEEEE." I yelled in frustration.
