Chapter 10

I put my two weeks notice with HR when I got to work. I've started looking for jobs and I have interviews lined up.

"Skylar can we please talk about this?" He said leaning on my desk

"Is there anything else I can do for you Mr. Berkly?" I smiled at him.

"Yes, you can talk to me." He rolled his eyes
"I'm just here to work and go home sir."

"C'mon.. I miss you."
I miss you too.

"Okay, I'll be going on break now." I got up and left.

What's wrong with me? Why can't t we be in a relationship?
I felt my tears building up.

I walked out the building and towards my car. Just to see Sane standing there waiting. I quickly turned around.
How the fuck?

"Wait, Skylar please." He yelled.
I inhaled deeply to calm myself

I stood in front of him with my arms cross and my weight on one feet.

"Speak." I said
"I'm sorry." He tried to step closer but I step back.

"I'm sorry?" I glared at him "I'm so fucking tired of hearing those damn words."

"Well, I truly am sorry." He said
"Sorry for what exactly?"

"I'm just not looking for labels right now." He said

"No, you are not looking to settle down." I glared at him. "You think I'm going to sit around and wait for you?"

"No, I don't expect that-"
"I don't deserve this shit." I said. "A matter of fact you do not deserve me."

I looked at him as he tried to find words.

"Yeah, yeah I get it." I walked towards my car. "Obviously our feelings are not on the same level."

"But can you blame me? Our first fight and you went and find another man." He said

"What other man?"
"The man I saw in your apartment the other night."

"Wow." I said shaking my head. "I can't believe I actually liked you. You are an ass."

I drove off.

I felt so dumb, so fucking stupid to think he could change, that he liked me enough to change.

"How was it you guys?" I yelled knowing Syrus and Capline are back.

"It was so fun." Cap said "the best food truck festival ever."

"Was someone here with you?" Syrus walked out with empty bottles "because all my body wash is used up."

"My bad, I'll buy it back." I mumbled.

After Sane showed up the other night, Paris haven't spoke to me since.

"Skylar? Who was here?" Cap asked.

I told them everything that went down with Paris, Natalie and Sane.

"Sounded like you had more fun than us." Syrus said.

"More like heartbreak after heartbreak." I mumbled
"Oh no. Skylar you didn't." Cap gasped

"What?" I asked.
"You love him." She said staring at me.

"What no, we were just dating. People don't fall in love that quick."
Do they?

"Yeah, yeah." Syrus said smirking "but one thing I do know, Paris likes you."

"Me? What? No way." I stuttered.
"He literally tried to kiss you." Syrus said.

"He was going through a breakup, probably looking for a rebound."

"Mmmm." Cap squint at me.
"Y'all tripping." I said.

What if I do love him? What if Paris actually likes me.
I went upstairs to Paris apartment.

"Hey." Paris opened his door shirtless. He had small freckles all over his chest and torso.

"Sky." He said making me realize I was staring at him.

"I- uh just want to see if you were okay." I said "you kind of just stormed out on me the other night."

My eyes move down his abs and lower.
Bingo.
I crossed my legs.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm good, thanks for asking." He bit his lip "that's all you came down here for?"

"Mm?" I said
"You can come in." He stepped to the side.

"O-o-Kay."I said eyeing him.
