Sorry y'all I am a college student and I'm getting ready to go back to school I'll try to finish the book before I start classes. Thank you.

"Okay Tommy let me know if you come up on anything." I hang up the phone.

"Anything on Paris?" Cap asked.
"No." I mumbled

It's been 4 months since Paris vanished, no trace of him.

"Maybe he is okay." Cap said rubbing my back.
"Or maybe he's dead." I snarled.

"Dead? Don't be crazy. Paris spent 5 years in combat, if he's anything he's a survivor."

I inhale deeply "I'm late for work."

Sane:
Hey, I was wondering if we could go grab coffee?

Me:
Why?

Sane:
I need to talk to you.

Me:
Yeah sure.

I've been so depressed lately. I missed Paris, I just wish I knew where he was. If he was okay. I leave voicemails on his cells everyday hoping he'll hear them.

"Hey." I said to Sane.
He looked handsome in his casual outfit and sunglasses.

"Hey,  Skylar." His face lit up. He got up and hug me.
I gave him fake smile. I really wasn't feeling it.

"So, how are you?" I asked knowing I didn't give a shit.

"I could have been better." He flashed he's pearly whites at me.
"Well,-"

"How are you?" He asked.
Those words, those word.
"I'm okay." My voice cracked and I knew I couldn't keep it in any longer.

I burst into uncontrollably tears.

"Sky? Skylar? What's wrong? Is it something I said?"

This is what happens when you haven't let your emotions out Skylar. You bawl in front of your ex.
I've been bottling up my feelings.

After a few minutes of crying.
"Sky?" Sane whispered.

"I'm sooorry." I sniffled "I gotta go."
"No, stay. Talk to me Skylar." He gave me promising look.

"That's not a good idea." I mumbled.
"I'm sorry for making you cry, I didn't know seeing me would make you this emotional." He said.

He had some nerve.
"It's not that Sane, I don't want to talk about it." I rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm here if you ever want to talk." He said touching my hand.

I flinch at his touch and all the feelings came running back to me as I stare at him.

"What did you want to talk about?" I regained my focus.

"I hated the way I left things with you." He began. "I hurt you and I was selfish for thinking you wouldn't want more from me."

"Okay-"
"I'm sorry Sky, please forgive me." He plead.
"Your forgiven." I sighed.
"Would you come back to work for me?"
"Oppp, don't push it." I raised my brows and he raised his hands in defeat.

"So where do we stand?" He asked.
"Friends." I said.

It's been a month and still no lead on Paris. I insist that my private investigator keep looking.

Sane and I been hanging out more often.

"You've been smoking a lot lately." Sane said passing me the blunt. "And you still didn't tell me why you burst into tears."

"Seriously If you asked me again. I'm leaving." I glared at him. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Okay, okay." He said. "Sky?"
"Mm?"

"I can't do this." He said.
"Do what?" I asked.
"Be friends,"
I looked at him waiting for him to continue.
"I want you back, I missed you ever since you left."

"Sane-"
"Your the best girl I ever had." He walked over to me.

"I wasn't your girl Sane, we weren't anything." I whispered as he got closers.

"And that was the biggest mistake I've ever made."
He whispered. "Skylar, be mine?"

"I thought you didn't do labels." I said as my breathing became faster.

"Like I said I've changed, I wanted you to be my girl and I'll do anything for you." He said looking into my eyes.

"But-" he pressed his lips against mine. And I lost it. I kissed him back intensely.

He pulled away from me. "I love you too." He breathes before returning to my lips.
