Part 5 {Escape}

'Hi, Maya!' Pierre says and he hugs me.

'Hi, Pierre.' 'Maya! Be nice!' My mom yells from the kitchen.

'Pierre!' Josh says and he gives him a hug.

I really don't understand why Josh likes him so much.

'Mom? Is it okay that I go to Grayson's place after dinner?' 'Who is Grayson honey?' 'That guy from the assignment.'

She looks at me with an angry face.

'You're not going to that guy that you slept with!' 'Omg mom! It wasn't like that!' 'But it looked like it!'

I roll my eyes and walk back upstairs.

They really hate me.

'Maya?' I hear Pierre's voice. I run to my door and try to lock it.

But he's faster and stronger than me so he pushes it open.

'Please get out of my room Pierre.' 'Or what? You'll yell? Call for your mom? Because that won't work, she sent me up here herself.'

'And why would she do that?' 'She thought you needed some guy advice.'

I take a step backward.

'Are you afraid of me Maya?'

I try to take another step but I can't because my bed stands in the way.

'I thought we had a fun time two years ago?' 'Is that your definition of a fun time? Raping your stepdaughter?'

'It wasn't rape because we both liked it.' 'I didn't!'

He comes closer to me and it gets really uncomfortable.

'Stay away from me Pierre!' 'Guess I am already too late with that.'

'What's going on in here?' I look at the door and there is Josh.

The first time that I am actually happy with him being in my room.

'Nothing just talking to your sister.' Pierre says.

I roll my eyes and ignore it.

No one will believe me anyway if I tell them what's going on and what happened two years ago.

I help my mom with the dishes and tell her that I will go for a walk.

I take my jacket, my phone, and keys and walk out of the door.

It's really quiet outside, the only thing I hear are the leaves on the trees.

I send Grayson a message so that he knows that I'll be there in a couple of minutes.

Me: Hi I am on my way
Gray: okay see you in 5
Me: No it will take a bit longer
Gray: why?
Me: gotta walk
Gray: I can pick you up if you want?
Me: No need, almost there...

I put my phone away and start walking a bit faster.

After 15 minutes I arrive at their place.

'Maya come on in.' 'Thank you, Ethan.'

'Grayson is upstairs.' I nod and thank him.

I walk upstairs into Grayson's room.

'Hey, Gray.' 'Maya! Hi! Come on in.' I smile and walk in his room.

I have never been in his room before. When I came here we always sat downstairs. Not that I mind, it's just weird that he has been in my room so many times and I never in his...

In sit down on his bed and he looks at me with a weird but funny face.

'What's wrong?' 'Nothing, you're just, never mind.' 'I am what?'

Am I worthless? Fat? Stupid? Crazy? Disgusting?

He sits down next to me and takes my hand.

'Maya, you are beautiful.'

He looks me in the eye and I feel tears behind my eyes.

I haven't got a compliment in years, at least not a compliment that means so much to me.

P.O.V Grayson

'Maya, you are beautiful.'

I see a tear running down her cheek.

Did I say anything wrong? I gave her a compliment, right?

I grab her hand a little bit tighter.

'Maya, you really are beautiful okay, don't you dare to ever forget that!'

She smiles and nods.

I get a little bit closer and lean in to kiss her.
