Hey guys! My name's Nihaarika or as I am more commonly known by, Lucianne. I am excited to tell you about the reasons I love Wattpad. I also have a giveaway so please do check out the details at the end of the post.

Wattpad. Like woah, what do I say? It's become such an important part of my life that there is not a day that I don't switch it on, even it's for a few day. I come online, even if for a few minutes, to read the lovely comments on my works, or to catch an update on my favourite authors' stories. So, here are the reasons why I am so much in love with this site.

It changed me as a writer
If you had known me before I joined Wattpad, you would have laughed when you would have read my stories. The plot, the grammar, the characters, they were so bad that today when I go back to read those stories, I laugh at myself. When I joined here, I decided I would try and improve everything, and eventually wrote a story on my old account, which somehow got 900 reads. I discovered my style. I discovered what I was best at, all thanks to Wattpad.

The Clubs of Wattpad
So, back to 2014, I had no cover for my story. All it was an image from an anime that I liked. Then by chance, my cursor hit the community tab and I saw the link to the clubs. I clicked and well, I found the clubs (obviously). First thing I clicked on was the Multimedia Designs Club. I saw that there were people who were willing to make a cover for your story for a small payment. Would you believe me when I say that I thought payment meant actual money? I was also a major thread-hopper. I basically never read the rules and requested on so many threads, and they even accepted.

Then one day, I saw that someone wanted a cover and I made this:

Which as you can see is horrible, but I learnt to improve and I then went onto make this:

This is thanks to all the people who encouraged me and inspired me to improve. Thank you!

Making Friends
When I joined Wattpad back in 2014, I didn't know anyone nor was I popular and stuff. But by posting my stories and interacting in the clubs, I made friends from all over. Whether it be The Phillipines, USA, UK, Germany etc, I have come to know a diverse bunch of people. That is a quality we need in these tumultuous times. To be inclusive of all without looking at the skin colour or wherever you come from.
These friends are the best friends I can have. Though, I may never meet them, I love them for their encouragement and their support and I do hope I get to meet them. A shoutout to all those friends -TheAnimeFreak-, Abyss-of-Crazy, ikemenxchan, CallMeEve-, Kai_Saeki, Lhian_Ackerman, . You guys are the best!

Diverse Place
Though we may call Wattpad a place where most leads are white, and people of colour don't have representation, the authors are changing that. We are learning to be more inclusive and include all kinds of people. We are learning to accommodate people of all kinds, without discrimination. Wattpad's becoming one of Internet's most diverse spaces, and I believe most of you will agree. As someone from India, I am glad that there are better representations of my country, besides those typical Appu-From-Simpsons depictions. And I am sure you guys are also loving those. (I hope!).

The Campaigns
Most of the audience on Wattpad are teens. And we are a major part of the Wattpad community. And we are also changing the world by making our own campaigns. TahliePurvis started the FreedYourBody campaign to change the perception of the world about body types when she was 16, I think. There are various other instances as well. Campaigns such as DiverseLit, ProjectWomanUp, and FreeMentalIllness are trying to change the world one step at a time. I also want to start a campaign, maybe. Someday, I will. But for now, I look at these campaigns and it really makes me very happy that people are actually trying to do something about these issues. I would recommend you do check these out.

So these are the reason I am very much in love with Wattpad. What about you? Comment and tell me the reasons you love Wattpad, and why this (might) be a major part of your life.

Also, I have a giveaway going on. I will be offering a custom graphic to one lucky winner. It can be a cover, banner, icon or even a book mark. Please do enter.

Well, that's it for my Wattpad Block Party post. It's great to be a part of this! Thanks to Kelly for letting me be a part of this! You should also check out the other authors; they have awesome posts and giveaways.

Signing off,

Nihaarika / Lucianne ( lucygh12)
