Ms_Horrendous Presents: Behind the Scenes of The Lovely Suicide Children

Before I get started, I would love to thank my inspiration (KellyAnneBlount) for this opportunity! Thank you so much :)

For those of you who don't know, I'm Ms_Horrendous and I write horror stories. This year, I released a new novel called: The Lovely Suicide Children. I wanted to mix horror with something many other struggle with, and that is suicidal thoughts. The release date of this story was on my former friend's birthday. He was a victim of suicide.

Story Blurb:

They say every dead person has a home. I found my home with The Lovely Suicide Children. At first, it was everything I could ever imagine. However, the first impressions are usually wrong.

Before I wrote the story, I told myself that I didn't want the story to focus on horror all the time, but more of the problems people face. I know I have a lot of friends, readers, and a few family members that have suicidal thoughts and it's mostly because of how often they're judged. My story focuses on pointing out the things people misunderstand. Children, teens, adults constantly get judged about their anxiety, depression, clothes style, or music.

Olivia, the main character lost her mother and she deals with anxiety/major depression. When she gets to public school for the first time, she finds herself struggling with people, teachers, her father, and her new home. She WANTS better life, but she doesn't know if she can have one.

Here's a small sneak peak of the story :D

My father peeked at me through the rear-view mirror. Our eyes met for the first time in seven long years, making me more anxious than I had already been. I shouldn't have hated him as much as I did, but in my mind, it was his fault. All of it.

I went into my backpack reaching past the books, pens, and letters I had packed for the move. I groaned, realizing my headphones weren't in the bag and probably were in one of my suitcases. Whenever I had anxiety like this, music was the only thing that blocked out the world. It made things less awkward for me. Nobody spoke to me, but whenever I had my music I felt like the lyrics did. The lyrics were my friends supporting me through the day, getting me through what seemed to have been a never ending storm.

"You know, your sister can't wait to meet you," my dad said. His voice was softer than I remembered it years ago. I could only remember it being gruff and strained because he was so stressed out. He chuckled to himself. "She even helped Shayla clean the entire house."

Sister. Shayla. The words lingered inside of my head, making me more upset. That wasn't my sister. That was his kid and Shayla's child. How dare he call her my sister? He's been taking care of her while my mom and I struggled to find funds for me to start school, and here he was, playing the "everything's okay" game.

Some people ask me what I hoped to get out of this story. I always say: For my readers to know they're not alone in these battles we must face. For my readers to know they don't have to feel like no one cares. The main characters of the story will face real things, dealing with step parents, bullying, deaths, and much more. However, they will get through it and realize that they have potential in life. I want my readers to realize that too!

AND YES! There will still be some horror, don't worry J

That was just a quick behind the scenes look of my novel.  Thank you so much for your time!
