Hey, guys!! It's your borderline nervous freak over here today, and it's exciting (more like, scary) to meet you all!

I would like to thank Kelly Anne Blount lots for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this event!! This really was always a dream of mine to be included in this whole thing so I'm very grateful <3

I've been struggling over what I should post for today and it's really been back and forth in my mind. However, I thought it would be fun to introduce you to some characters from my story, Staying With The Bakers and have you see them interact with each other. Hopefully you'll enjoy haha

Staying With The Bakers: Character Interview

[reporter walks in]

Hello, everyone! Welcome to a special edition of today's Wattpad Block Party post, where you'll get to meet special characters from Kaylina's first story, Staying With The Bakers!

Today you'll be seeing interactions between the characters and responses to comments that have been circling around by the readers. But before that, let me introduce you to the author herself--Kaylina!!

[Kaylina walks in, tripping over air out of fear]

Kaylina: Umm, hi *waves awkwardly*

As you can clearly see, she's very shy but that's okay! This is her first time in public, so it's not weird.

Kaylina: I guess...

Now before we have your characters come in, tell us a little about yourself!

Kaylina: Well, umm, I come from a big city in Ne--

Yeah yeah, okay now let's introduce our own favorite characters! First we ha--

Kaylina: Excuse me but you wouldn't have even got to talk to my characters if I hadn't let yo-

--ve Emmy Finwood, our favorite small-town girl!!

[Emmy comes in a with a nervous smile on her face]

Emmy: Hi, guys.

And then now we have the beloved Baker family! Let's bring them in!

[Colin whoops dramatically as he runs in, Adalynn, Jaxon, and the Baker parents behind him]

Colin: Wassup, New York!!

Emmy: *rolls eyes* we're not in New York, idiot.

Colin: Wait, what?

Emmy: How can you not know where you are?

Colin: I don't know! Mom just asked me if I'd like to be on live television and I said yes.

Jaxon: *scoffs* more like he screamed and ran around the house, screaming "Guess who's famous now?!" on repeat.

Colin: *glares at Jaxon* what are you even doing here? You haven't been written in the story yet.

Jaxon: I don't know if you forgot or you're just that dumb but I actually did get introduced already. Chapter 4?

Colin: It's not like anyone even remembers you. Hardly any of the readers talk about you.

Jaxon: Actually, some of them happened to laugh at what I said about Mr. Nelkin.

Colin: Well I know that a lot of them love me already.

Jaxon: I'm sure they won't love it when I shove my foot up your--

Okay! Now we're missing one more character, and I'm sure a lot of you fans love him just as much!

Colin: I highly doubt that.

Kaylina: I could easily drop you out the book if I wanted to, you know that?

Colin: But you won't *winks* I'm just too special.

Liam Norfin!!

*cue loud applause and swoons*

[Liam walks in sheepishly]

Colin: What kind of last name is Norfin?

Kaylina: Shush, I couldn't figure it out until the last minute.

Colin: But Norfin...really?

Kaylina: It's better than Smith or Rodriguez *shrugs*

Mighty my, boy do we have a beautiful cast here.

Colin: Why thank you.

Emmy: How come we can't see Liam's face?

*Liam's face blurs in and out*

Colin: O.o

Kaylina: Oh, sorry about that. I haven't casted him yet so for right now, we don't really know how he looks like.

Emmy: You can describe him.

Kaylina: Maybe, but we don't exactly have a clear picture like I have for you guys so right now let's just go on with this interview.

Where are your parents, Emmy?

Emmy: Oh...umm, well my mom's working and my dad said he'd rather not appear on television.

Why not?

Emmy: I don't really know. Something about how the readers aren't going to like him very much.

Mrs. Baker: Oh he's got that right.

Well okay then! So now that we're all here, let's start with our first question! Kaylina--

Kaylina: Oh so now you're going to let me speak?

When have I ever not let you?

Kaylina: ...

...

Kaylina: ...

...

Kaylina: ...

...

Kaylina: ...

Okay fine, fine! But it was one time! Plus, I'm running a tight schedule here! I can't afford to drag this on.

Kaylina: Then ask the stupid question!

*stutters* Well uh, I was wondering if...if um where exactly you got the idea for this story?

Kaylina: It's pretty easy to figure out.

Not really...

Kaylina: *sighs* Its drawn from my personal life, basically. I had been going through some problems with my family recently and...it sounds cliche saying this but it made me feel better about writing it all down.

Aaahh like a personal diary.

Kaylina: I wouldn't say that exactly but I guess...I mean, people have been telling me that they can relate and it's a good topic to talk about so I just kept writing.

And you still are?

Colin: She better! I wasn't born for nothing.

Mrs. Baker: Colin, seriously? When I said you could come, I also said you had to keep quiet unless you want to be grounded.

Kaylina: *ignores them* Yeah, of course. I'm in too deep to just leave it discontinued. Plus, there's still more to write in the story.

Colin: Like the fact in whether or not Emmy and Liam are going to get together *winks*

Emmy: What?

Liam: *blushes*

Kaylina: *coughs awkwardly*

Emmy: *turns to Kaylina* Wait what is he talking about?

Kaylina: I have no idea...

Colin: Don't think I don't know what you're planning *smirks*

Emmy: Kaylina, what is he talking about?

Kaylina: Nothing! I don't even know how this ship started in the first place!

Colin: It started as soon as Liam gave Emmy the cheesecake.

Liam: I was just being nice! I saw her looking all sad at the table when her parents were gone so I stole a piece from the dessert that was supposed to be served to the other table and gave it to her to make her smile.

Emmy: I don't understand how anyone could've gotten that and twisted it into being more than just kindness.

Colin: It's pretty simple. Give a girl some food, and you'll immediately steal her heart. And according to this site Wattpad, there's more girls than boys.

Kaylina: It isn't a guaranteed fact. I mean, there's a lot of guys on the app, too.

Colin: Not from what I seen.

Emmy: What are you doing on the app, anyways? You don't even read.

Colin: There's millions of people over there. It's practically the next Tinder for bookworms and amateur writers alike! A gold mine for Colin Baker's next potential date.

Emmy: Aren't you interested in that guy at the coffee shop you work at?

And aren't you gay?

Colin: I go both ways *winks* what's the fun in only being attracted to one kind, if I can be attracted to both? And to answer your question Emmy, I can still look. I do want to be with the guy, but for right now and even later I'm acknowledging other people.

Jaxon: What's the fun in that? You don't even know how some of them look like.

Colin: Believe it or not, Jax, but it's not all about looks.

*cue heart eyes*

Emmy: I think you just made even more people fall in love with you.

Colin: Who can ever resist my Baker charm? It's all in the genes.

Jaxon: Not really. Kaylina is the one who created you.

Kaylina: Yes. You should be thanking me.

Colin: Isn't it the other way around?

Kaylina: Oh you did not just--*reaches out to smack him*

Liam: *restrains Kaylina* now is not the time. We're still live.

Jaxon: This would make for some quality TV, you've gotta admit.

Kaylina: *grumbles* Just ask another question.

Well isn't this exciting? How about this...Emmy, how do you feel about your current situation with your parents? It seems like you're going through a tough time while in the Baker household.

Emmy: I don't think it's ever easy going through what's going on for me right now. Especially at my age, I just recently turned 15 not too long ago, it's hard to accept the fact that your parents are separating. I mean, no child ever wants to see that. I have the support of my cousin, Colin...

Colin: *jerks chin up* Wassup.

Emmy: My best friend, Katie...

Katie: *pops up out of nowhere with free popcorn* Hi.

Wait, what the...where did you come from?

Katie: Well, you forgot to introduce me in the beginning so I just decided to come at my own time.

Colin: *whines* How come you got popcorn?

Katie: There's a break room next door. It was pretty easy getting in. The security guard was too busy fighting some old lady who whacked him in the head.

Jaxon: Why did she whack him?

Katie: I don't know...she seemed kinda crazy. I mean, she started doing some voodoo and that's when I just left.

Well...whatever. Just sit down and wait till it's your turn to talk.

Katie: I'll talk at my own time, thank you very much.

Okay then...umm, Emmy is that it?

Emmy: *shrugs* They're really the only people I can think of.

Colin & Katie: Awwww.

Jaxon & Adalynn: Hey!

Emmy: Sorry, sorry but we're not really that close.

Jaxon: *turns to Adalynn* That is true...

Emmy: But yeah, without them, I probably would feel alone. Just like lots of other people in my situation.

Kaylina: Yeah, I have someone close to me as well and we both can relate to each other so I never felt like she pitied me. I wanted Emmy to have that same kind of shoulder to lean on.

To Kaylina, how did it feel putting your feelings out here in the world?

Kaylina: A lot of people say it's hard for them to admit about their personal problems, especially since most aren't very open about their feelings. And I can understand that, truly. But with me, it's hard keeping everything inside. As soon as someone gives me a listening ear, I vent. I vent and I vent and I vent and I vent and so on. It wasn't really hard starting this story...still isn't. Wattpad is a platform where you get to share your writing with the world and meet new people. I decided to mix both with Staying With The Bakers. I wanted other people to relate to Emmy and my own self but also express my thoughts with writing. And so far it's been really good.

That's really touching to hear. Who knew you could be so deep?

Colin: Seriously, like since when did this whole interview take a sad turn?

Adalynn: You knew what you were signing up for when you agreed to come so don't complain.

Colin: Okay first of all, I wasn't complaining, I was merely asking a question. And second of all...why are you even here?

Jaxon: Not this again...

Colin: No, no, you're not even in the story at all *turns to Jaxon* and my memory isn't fooling me this time.

Jaxon: I see that.

Adalynn: It's not my fault that I've been busy with college. With all the exams going on and living miles away from my own home, it's obvious I won't be having enough time to visit my family.

Colin: Excuses, excuses. If you really cared, you would try hard enough.

Adalynn: *rolls eyes* Whatever, I don't listen to you.

Colin: *scoffs* Clearly.

Mr. Baker: No wonder I work so much. Not just because of the money, but because my kids drive me nuts.

Jaxon: You know you love us. Especially me since I'm your favorite.

Colin & Adalynn: No you're not!

Jaxon: That is denial I hear.

Mr. Baker: *groans* Sarah, you promised that you made sure they would behave.

Mrs. Baker: Well obviously it didn't work.

Liam: You know *turns to Emmy* sometimes I wonder why you want siblings.

Emmy: I'm thinking the same at the moment...

Kaylina: Having a brother is exhausting *rolls eyes* you're really lucky.

Okay guys, can we get back to the topic at hand? Like I said, we're running on a tight schedule here.

Colin: Okay okay, but can it be an innocent one? One sappy story is just too much for me.

Kaylina: Why did I even create you?

Colin: Because your story wouldn't be as exciting without me as it is with me *winks*

Well okay then, Liam, this next question is for you.

Liam: Shoot.

Colin: *makes shooting gestures*

Emmy: *slaps him in the back of the head*

Colin: *glares at Emmy* That hurt.

Emmy: That's what I was going for.

Kaylina: I've never been so proud :')

Liam, seems like some people are rooting for you to come back to the story. Any chance we might see you again?

Liam: I think that decision is up to Kaylina. I mean, it's her story.

Kaylina: I never even planned for him to be that important in the first place...

*cue crickets chirping*

Liam: O.O

Colin: Oh wow *laughs loudly* that must have burned you, Liam.

Kaylina: *blushes* I mean, he was just supposed to be a very nice but random waiter. Then I gave him a name and some people starting obsessing over him and then I realized how important he could be to the story and boom! he became an important character...No offense, Liam.

Liam: It's okay. No hard feelings.

Colin: Wait, seriously? You're not even a little upset?

Liam: *shrugs* It doesn't matter, really. It's not like I'm getting paid to do this.

Colin: Speaking of, why don't we get paid?

Kaylina: You've got to be kidding me.

Emmy: Here we go...

Colin: No, no, after all the work we do for you, we don't even get a salary? That's just rude.

Kaylina: Colin, we spoke about this already. I don't even have a job! How am I supposed to pay you if I don't have any money?

Colin: Steal from the bank or something!!

Kaylina: *scoff* You don't think I thought about that? It wouldn't work.

Colin: How would you know if you've never tried?

Kaylina: Why are we even arguing about this? You're not real!

*le gasp*

Jaxon: Ooohhh, that had to hurt.

Katie: *throws pieces of popcorn in mouth*

Colin: I see how it is...

Kaylina: No, Colin I...

Colin: I'm just going to go to the bathroom for a quick sec'.

[Colin walks out of the room]

Kaylina: Ugh! I didn't even mean to say that.

Emmy: Well he is a little sensitive...you should know.

Kaylina: Whatever, I have to leave.

[Kaylina walks out of the room]

Sooo...are we going to keep on with the interview or not?

Emmy: I think i'm going to leave, too...just to check up on them.

[Emmy walks out of the room]

But we still have a few minutes left!

Jaxon: Figure it out, I guess. I have to leave, too. But not because Colin is McSensitive, I just ordered pizza an hour ago and the guy's outside so...peace!

[Jaxon disappears out of nowhere]

Katie: I just came here, though! *shrugs* Whatever, I'm getting that pizza.

[Katie miraculously speeds out the door]

Adalynn: Well this was fun...

Mrs. Baker: C'mon, let's just leave.

Mr. Baker: *sighs* I missed work for this.

[Mr. and Mrs. Baker walk out, along with Adalynn]

Wait no, my boss said the interview had to be at least 30 minutes long!

Liam: Well, looks like that's on you, buddy. I'll be on my way out, my shift starts soon and I can't be late.

Not even for one more question?

Liam: Nah, I don't really know about anything else that's going to happen yet so I won't be of use to you anymore. Thanks for letting me be here, though. I've always wanted to be on TV.

[Liam salutes and walks out]

Oh great, now I have to face my boss...

???: You can talk to me.

[reporter swivels around in surprise]

Who are you?

???: I can't really tell you yet. Kaylina wants me to be kept a secret.

Why are you here?

???: Element of surprise, I guess? I couldn't let the others see me since I haven't been introduced to the story yet. But you, you're not even part of it so I don't have to worry about you revealing my face.

I hardly think I can at all if it's just a blur.

???: Well I don't really have a name and I haven't been casted yet so I'm just a mysterious identity. You can call me John Doe, if you want.

Okay then, John Doe...how important are you to the story?

???: Pretty important. Kaylina told me my role and i'm actually excited. I've always wanted to play the--nevermind.

So...you're not a bad guy?

???: *shrugs* I could be. Who knows?

Why can't you just tell me? It's not like anybody's listening.

???: Do you really think I'm that stupid? I may not have a definite identity or a face but I can know when to follow orders. And my orders were to not reveal myself at the moment.

Well then what can you say?

???: Hmm...I can say one thing to the readers.

And what's that?

*camera zooms in on his/her's blurred face*

???: You'll thank me soon enough.

[??? disappears out of thin air]

...what in the living he--

Boss: Murray!!!

Oh God...

[end of TV program]
