(Jack's POV)

"I uhhh..." Ethan stammered holding the jar close to him, obviously not ready to confront the group of egos. Everyone in the room looked at him with a confused look.Mark appeared behind him, running towards Ethan,

"Ethan, You were supposed to stay in..." Mark's voice faltered when he saw all the egos stare at them, "the car." Mark let out a nervous chuckle, "Oh yeah guys! I didn't think we'd be running into you anytime soon. How's it going?" He stalled as they all took a few steps back, "Anyways, run!" He yelled and they all booked it. I quickly scrambled up from the floor and booked it myself.

All the egos seemed to get out of the trance they were in when Dark yelled, "Get them!" as they were quickly on our tail. Ethan ran the fastest as Mark and I were way behind, the egos practically clipping our heels as Ethan was a good few feet ahead of us. The car door was open and Tyler sat in the front seat with the car running. Ethan quickly hopped into the front seat, looking at us with an urgent look, motioning for us to come faster. I sped up as Mark spoke,

"Go without us, we'll be fine!" He yelled, waving his hands for them to drive. They looked at us with worried looks before Ethan closed the door and they drove off. Mark and I stopped running as there was no point, the egos had stopped as well, realizing their lose. Mark and I were catching our breaths when Mark was grabbed by the collar of his shirt..

"How dare you get in the way of my plans!" Dark yelled in Mark's face, almost lifting him off his feet. Mark struggled against the grip while no ego dared to interfere.

"There's no point in getting riled up Dark, there's little we can do now." Wilford's voice popped up from the crowd, chidding Dark for his actions. Of course Wilford would be the only one brave enough to chide Dark. Dark's breathing started to calm down as he threw Mark to the ground. I ran over to Mark to help him up. Mark dusted himself off before having a stare off with Dark, then turned around and walked away alongside me.

"You alright Mark?" I asked.

"Yeah, just glad (Y/n) is alright. Jeez, how are we going to explain this to them?" mark chuckled and joined him. Another chuckle joined us as well but it was more sinister.

"Now I wouldn't be assuming they're ok." Dark spoke smugly behind us. We turned around to see a smirk on his face while all the color from our skin drained as we ran to the nearest bus stop to get home as quickly as we could...

"Where's (y/n)?!" I yelled through the house the moment Mark unlocked the door, rushing into the living room to see Tyler and Ethan sitting on the couch but no (Y/n). They both looked up at me with solemn faces which caught my breath as I prepared for the worse.

"We took them to the hospital the moment we learned they were unconscious. The doctors told us it would be best to leave and wait for their phone call as we wouldn't be able to visit (Y/n) since they took them to the human part of the hospital." Tyler explained softly. I let the air I was holding in out and collapsed onto the couch, tired of the small adventure and relieved (Y/n) was in good hands. Mark sat down on the other couch by Ethan and we all sat there in silence, not sure of what to say. An hour passed by before Mark spoke up, breaking the silence,

"But what if Dark finds out where they are again? What would we do? For all we know he could've already checked them out of the hospital and be long gone before we could do anything!" He yelled, standing up, obviously frustrated. "I knew it would be a risk to bring (y/n) out here the moment I learned they were human but I did it anyways... now look at what I've done." He mumbled the last part as he started to pace around the living room. Ethan gave him a concerned look.

"It's not your fault Mark, you didn't know when Dark or Anti would strike. It was out of your control. I mean, Dark could've gotten any of us to get to you and it unfortunately ended up being (Y/n) but they're in good hands now. Plus the nurses would only allow Tyler and I to take them home anyways since you weren't there." Ethan explained to Mark softly, wanting to take away the guilt that Mark was feeling. Mark furrowed his eyebrows,

"It is my fault. This is the exact reason why I avoided making human friends. He'll do anything to get to me and kidnapping a human friend of mine would be the perfect opportunity. I kept myself from getting too close to humans knowing Dark would find them eventually. But then I had to go and pressure (Y/n) into coming here causing them to reveal they were human. If I hadn't been so pushy none of this would've happened." Mark raged on, groaning irritably before collapsing onto the couch, burying his head into his hands. Ethan, Tyler and I all looked at each other with worried faces, not sure what to say to Mark. I knew Mark shouldn't feel guilty for that but I was sure how to phrase it. We all sat there in silence again for a few minutes until I spoke up softly,

"You can't let Dark control you like this. If you tried to keep (Y/n) from coming then you'd be showing that Dark won. You wouldn't prevent us from coming if Dark tried to get one of us, I mean, what do you think Anti was trying to do by escaping after PAX? Be a nuisance? By bringing (Y/n) here more often, you'd make a statement to Dark that you weren't afraid of him which I think is Dark's worst fear" I told Mark, biting my lip he would understand. He lifted his head, looking me in the eye with a hardened expression before his face softened,

"I guess you're right." He said, "Sometimes I just get so worried about what dark will do, I don't realise I'm isolating myself from amazing things." He sighed before pulling out his phone, probably to look for a distraction. I let out a small smile before messing around on my phone.

A few minutes pass before Tyler's phone rings. Everyone's eyes gaze upon Tyler as he answers, "Hello?"
