Y/n's pov.
"I-I love you." Lauren stuttered out as we just stared at eachother.

I couldn't say it back.

I just couldn't.

Thinking that we were going to get divorced after this,

I just couldn't tell her I love her.

I did though, I loved her with all my heart.

"I c-can't." I mumbled out.

She looked away from me.

I saw a tear fall from her eye, but she quickly wiped it away and walked away from me.

My heart broke at the sight, but I knew I couldn't do anything.

I turned my head and saw her stood up writing something on the table.

I just sighed.

I heard the doorbell ring and I walked towards the front door.

"Hey babies." I greeted, my voice coming out as a whisper, but my kids were too caught up with their book and music that they didn't notice.

"Hey mom." Luna greeted closing her book and kissing my cheek.

She walked in the house and I heard her greet Lauren.

"Hey." Lucas greeted me.

These 3 past months, Lucas hasn't been calling neither Lauren and I by mommy or mama.

We had a talk once when he was 6.

He snapped at Lauren and told her that she would leave him alone and that if he could, he would choose somebody else to be his father.

That really hurt both Lauren and I.

I gave him a talk and he broke down on me.

He said that he never really liked Lauren because he didn't look like her and the first day Lauren picked him up from school, kids teased him.

"Hey baby." I greeted and hugged him.

I was thankful that he hugged me back, but he then pulled away and walked in, ignoring Lauren who was now sat down on the dining table.

"Hey buddy." Lauren tried to call out for Lucas.

I closed the door and saw Lucas give Lauren the peace sign and walk to his room.

"Uhm...I guess we should tell the kids." I whispered and sat down in front of Lauren.

"Are we really doing this?" Lauren asked with a sad face.
"I g-guess." I whispered.

Lauren gave me a sad smile and she intertwined our fingers.

"I'll be here for you even if we're not together." She whispered and kissed my hands.

"I love you Y/n. Never forget that." She added.

I couldn't say it back.

Gosh, I was stupid for not saying it back.

"Hey ma's, I got good news." Luna said coming in the room.

Lauren didn't let go of our hands, but she told Luna to wait and to tell her brother to sit down on the table with us.

"Sign the papers." Lauren said standing up.

She gave me a kiss on the head before leaving to the go to the kitchen.

This shouldn't be happening.

Where's the happy ending in this messed up love story?

My hands trembled as I signed the papers.

Before I knew it, we were all seated on the dining table.

No papers on the furniture.

No rings on neither Lauren or I's fingers.

No talking.

Just complete silence as we ate the macaroni soup Lauren made.

"So, we have to tell you kids something." I spoke up and wiped my mouth with a napkin.

Lucas' head lifted up, but he kept eating.

Luna stopped eating and waited for us.

"Your mom and I have been talking," Lauren added.

"We signed some papers today and we're getting divorced." Lauren said.

Tears slipped from my eyes, but I wiped them away.

"W-what?" Luna asked shocked.

Lucas dropped his spoon on the table and he looked at us with wide eyes.

Luna started crying as Lucas looked back and forth, from Lauren and I to his sister.

"Why would you do this?! Why now?" Luna yelled standing up and running away.

"Luna, baby, n-"

I was cut off by my own son yelling at me.

"She was so excited to tell you that she made it to choir! I may have never liked mama, but I thought you both loved eachother?"

"Having two mothers and getting teased was worse enough, but this just tops it off." He added.

"I'm sorry Lucas." I whispered.

"I don't want to eat anymore. Leave us alone." He said before leaving the table.

"It's going to be okay." Lauren whispered and hugged me.
