So, lucky for us, Stephen and his 'assignment' decided to blend in... sort of. They booked first class on a high-speed train that will take them to the capital where they'll switch to another train for Switzerland, whilst we were getting off in Rome, we managed to convince Stephen to move their travel time up so Troy and his men would have a harder time coming after us.
Johunta and Louise were disguised as a traveling couple and Channing was disguised as a railway worker, Rowan and I keeping our original covers.
I stepped behind Rowan onto the down escalator and began looking around. The canopy was complete glass, giving us a nice view of the night sky above. Cement poles stemmed down into the center of each platform, large gaps in-between. Other furs were quietly boarding the train and I spotted Stephen and his crew further up the platform. He turned his head towards us and I nodded. We stepped down off the escalator and walked three cars up from the trailing engine and stepped aboard. Rowan led us to our seats and Johunta said over the ear piece, "We're in front of the café lounge, two cars behind Stephen. All clear." "All clear back here," Rowan replied. "We're clear up here, the usual eyes on us every now and then so it's tricky to see who's just rubbernecking and who's an actual threat," Stephen chimed. "He's alive." "Keep your guard up, we're departing in five minutes," Channing added.
"Ciao, benvenuto a bordo," a conductor chimed walking up. "Grazie." The announcements began up as the doors shut. My eyes drifted across the terminal to an arriving train and a bunch of furs waiting for their train. The train gave a slight jerk and we began moving, the revving of the engines powering up was clear as an average day. We exited out from under the canopy and into the interchange section, navigating to our line. "Right, stay on alert you guys, cameras from the station and facial recognition say three of Troy's men are also onboard," Ross said. "What, did they get tipped off?" "No, they have a yacht up in Rome, probably going for a joy ride, make sure they don't touch Stephen," Donna replied. "Right, where are they?" "A car behind you and Rowan." "Copy." "Stephen, don't let your guys come any further back than the cafe car, got it." "Yea Baskin." "Blue, once we're clear of the interchange, I want you tomeet me in the tail car, so we can take care of them, Rowan, I need you to make a distraction when I say so." "What, how?" "I don't know, start blaring music or tell a joke, anything to get their attnetion away from the tail car, Ross how many are inside the tail car," Channing replied. "Besides the men, two others, both of which minding their business and working... one is... oh my god ew." "What?" "He's looking up yiff. EW EW EW EW EW, NO!" "ROSS! SHUT UP," Johunta angrily whispered. I put my head down snickering. "Is it atleast good yiff?" "BLUE!" "I had to ask I'm sorry," I laughed. Some eyes came our way as I started to lose control. "Get it together before I kick your ass into next month," Channing growled. "Try me, I will roast you, figuritavely and literally. Come. At. Me." "He's right...," Rowan sighed. "You know what I mean." I snickered and sat back in my seat. It didn't feel like we were moving, the car was still as we crossed through another junction and udner a bridge, running along the outskirts of the city. Rowan tapped his earpiece and gestured for me to do the same. I rose a brow and he mouthed, "Mute your mic". So I did. There was a click as the wheels went over a weld and Rowan said, "So, what're you gonna do with Channing when this is all over?" "Huh?" Rowan snickered and sighed. "There's obviously still something there," he smirked. "Oh that, well, first, I'm gonna beat the shit out of him for not telling me or atleast sending me a covert message saying that, I don't know, he's still alive, then I'll see where we go from there..." "Come on, just ask him after we get state side!" "Maybe, I don't know." "Um... guys," Ross said. I unmuted my mic and said, "Yea." "Something... Funky is going on." "What is it?" "Three more men just showed up at the station for a train to Rome, the one scheduled to leave right before you, and from a quick data search, there was three on the train before you guys and three before them..." "Maybe they did get tipped off?" "By who though?" "I don't know." "Someone had to have." "Maybe they're just moving a little at a time so they don't get rubberneck eyes like Stephen and his assignment," I put in. "Maybe, but Ross is right, something isn't right." We entered the coastline and the track switched from dual to single, the lights from the interior of the train appearing next to the train on the sand. "Blue, I'm heading your way, be ready to move in a few seconds," Channing said. "Alright." I looked up at Rowan who looked a little distressed. "You good?" "Yea... I want to get home quickly... there's something I have to do when I get there." "Oh?" "Let's just say I owe someone something..." "What happened?" "I'll tell you after, here comes Channing," he said as the door behind me slid open. I stood up and Channing gave me a nod as he passed and I followed. We walked down the carriage and walked into the next. It didn't take long, but I could hear rucus from the carriage we just came from. "Attention all passengers, we regret to inform you, we will need you to leave this car, we have a massive reservation and moving everyone up towards the front of the train," Channing said softly. The two who weren't with Troy looked at Channing confused. I gestured for them to leave and they hesitated before I began to growl, which made them jump. They left the car and Channing ran a paw through his hair as the others stood up. "Any last words before we begin?" One of them, which was a bull, cracked his knuckles while the bloodhound smirked and pulled out a pocket knife. "You'll regret this." "Poor choice," Channing smirked, looking at me and giving a nod. "Focus on anger or your red swirls, the hound is super ticklish and has a swee spot above his nose, stay within close proximity of the bull so I can scan him," Vilar said. "You can scan people?! ... can you find out dick sizes," I thought. "Just do what I asked." "Fine, not like I have anywhere to go." My red swirls sparked and the hound backed down a bit. The bull snorted and the train jolted as it hit another weld. The bull lunged at Channing and I lungedat the hound. He swung his knife up, skimming my left arm as I landed a kick to his waist, knocking him back a little. He let out a growl and I fired a blast at him. He turned his body, barely dodging it. "Gotta do better than that." "Really," I rose an eyebrow. I began firing blast after blast till he stood still and fired one at his nose, sending him into the wall of the car and onto his knees. "FUCK." "Who needs to do better now bitch." He snarled and got back up. "Oh shit..." He threw the knife, I dodged, he lunged while I wasn't paying attention and he jumped on me. He got me on my back and began throwing punches. My green swirls began up and a thick, intense, green fire erupted from them, making him crawl off whimpering. He looked down at his paws, which were now charred. "FUCKING WEIRDO!" "Grazie," I smirked and fired another shot at his nose, making him fall unconcious. I turned and the bull had channing in one hoove up against the car door. "Yo, Channing, you good?" "Does it look like I'm good," he grunted. "Yea, you look like you got this," I said taking a seat. "BLUE! HELP!" "FINE!" I shot a blast at the bull, who barely flinched. He snorted and turned his head. "Uh oh..." The bull dropped Channing and I backed up a little bit into the table. "Not so tough now aye?" "Not really... Oh wait." My green swirls sparked back up and the bull smirked. "Blue..." "Can it Channing." The bull lunged and I went head first intohis abdomen, my red and green swirls lighting me up like chistmas as I sent him back. I stepped back and he dusted himself off. He tricked me into thinking he was going to lunge again and ended up kicing me, sneding me onto my back and into a roll. "Calm down," Vilar chimed. I tried to, but I couldn't feel it in me to calm, I was having fun, I was excited. He swung and I swung back. I jumped up and pushed off him. He stumbled back and banged his head against the door. "They're... here... activate runaway," the bull said. "What?" I looked at Channing. The bull injected himself with something and the train jolted. I looked out the window and the speed of passing trees grew. "Um... we're speeding up." "Thanks captain obvious," I grunted. "How do we stop it," I said turning to the bull, who wasn't budging. I nudged him and he fell over like a sack of beans. "Who the hell kills themselves when they make a train become a runaway. Seriously?!" "Blue, stop ranting," Ross grunted. "Ross, how do we stop the train," Johunta asked. "I don't know, I'm trying to get the schematics for it now," he said. "Blue, you're a mini rail buff right?" "I guess so, why?" "Wouldn't disconnecting the cars stop it." "Given if it has vaccum or air brakes, yes, why?" "Cause we can do that!" "Or we find a way to take control back over the train so we don't blow Stephen's cover," I say. "We don't have time for that, you guys are going to hit a series of sharp curves that run along the coastline in about fifteen minutes, I'm almost in." "Seriously, wouldn't it make more sense to just disconnect the train?" "If we do that, then Stephen's assignment might ask what's up and when they find us, what do you think happens to us, and I'm sure Stephen isn't going to blow his cover to save a bunch of idiots who blew his cover," I said. Channing paused. "I got an idea, stay here," he said. "What are you doing Channing." He walked thorugh the last door and into the engine. I hear a clank and I walk over. I try to open the door, it doesn't budge. "Channing?" "We don't have time Blue." "He's right, y'all picked up speed, you've got aout seven minutes to get the brakes on or to get the train down to atg least one hundred and twenty-five, Donna is trying to figure out how the train is being overridden, we did a background search on the driver, he's clean and has no relation to Troy." "Great, can you get this door open," I asked. "I'm TRYING!" Channing cut a hole in the carriage passage and his fur began to blow back as air whipped into the passage. He reached down and I threw my body against the door. I hear a quiet pop. "Channing what was that?" "One of the pipes under the train..." "STOP CUTTING!" There was a louder pop and the tail, powercar began to slip away. I fired up a blast and opened the door. The train began to slow, but not fast enough to keep a reasonable distance between the last car and the power engine. I got down and held onto the torn passage. "Blue, what're you doing?" "You, Channing," I began as I reached over and grabbed the other car, trying to keep them close together. "Owe me six years of popcorn, pointless drama, dates, Channing Tatum marathons and kinky sex and listen here boy, I'm going to get all of them before I turn thirty and I'm not getting shot by some random people or fuck up someone else mission before that happens because you're being impulsive and stupid, we're doing it my way, got it?" "I dated a psycho. I held my feet close to me as I tried to pull the tail car back on. "Got it! I'm in," Ross said. "Bring the train down to speed," I grunted. My green swirls started up. I gradually pulled the car back on as the train began to slow down. I gave a final heave and pulled myself up as the car coupled back on. I climbed back to my feet and looked at Channing. "Woah." I back handed him hard enough to make him spin. "THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" "For giving dumb and impatient a new definition," I replied. He snarled and I winked. I turned around and his paw slapped my ass. I stopped and grunted, "Do it again, n I swear... know what you' gonna feel? Numb bitch, I'mma make you feel numb." He did it again and I turned around, ready to slap him when his lips met mine. "Channing... Baskin... Baskin? ... Channing." "I think they're..." "Coms out people..." We dragged the furs off when we got to Rome and hid them behind the main building. We all disembarked and headed up to the private airfield. "Everyone on, now, shouldn't be long before Troy and his men are here," Channing said. We filed up the stairs and into the jet. "Get us going." "On it," Ross said. "Well done you guys... but we have a visitor," Donna said, pausing. "Who?" "Donna, who the hell did you tell?" "I didn't, she just showed up." "Again, I ask, who," Johunta restated. "Me." We all paused and looked beyond Donna. There stood Nikita.
