Shot Through The Heart (and you're to blame) (I listen to too much music)

Supergirl's head was spinning. She had just knocked the man out, and was flying in the direction the bullet went.

She felt awful. Someone got shot because of her. Supergirl could see the bullet holes in a glass window and what looked like a young girl on the floor.

She screamed when she was the face of the girl. It was Lena. Lena Luthor.

Lena was gasping for air. Tears were streaming down her face. Her vision was blurry, and she was desperately trying to find her voice.

Supergirl knelt beside Lena and picked her up bridal style, "Lena, I'm taking you to a hospital."

Panic grew quickly in Lena's eyes. "Please... no." Lena managed to say weakly.

Supergirl gave in, and started flying towards the DEO. "Lena, honey, stay with me." She pleaded. She knew Lena couldn't stay conscience for much longer.

On their way there, Kara used her x-ray vision to see what happened. "Alex, the bullet tore through her aorta."

"Shit!" Alex yelled over comms. "Keep her calm. She needs pain meds as soon as she gets here."

Lena's eyes fluttered shut just before they reached the DEO.

When they reached the DEO, J'onn started yelling at Supergirl. "How could you bring her here? You know the rules, Supergirl."

"She's dying, you asshole!" Supergirl should have regretted raising her voice, but she didn't care.

Alex was in the med bay, waiting for Lena. Kara set Lena down on the table and Alex gave Lena some pills.

Three of the DEO's best surgeons walked in and started the surgery with Alex. One of them insisted that Kara left and shut the door. When Kara was on the other side of the door, Maggie ran to her.

Kara crumpled in Maggie's arms. "She's going to be okay." Maggie tried reassuring Kara, but she was also reassuring herself.

An hour and a half later, Alex walked out of the room and stood in front of Kara and Maggie. "They're going to finish up. She's okay. Kind of."

Kara nodded, "When can I see her?" her voice was raspy, and her eyes were tired. "Soon, I promise." Alex hugged her sister and sighed.

"Alex, what does she have?" Kara asked her sister.

One of the surgeons left the room.

Alex sighed, "Lena has a traumatic aortic rupture. It's when your aorta, which pumps your blood, is breaks or shatters. We have to keep her calm when she wakes up. If her heart rate gets too high, her heart will have to work harder to pump the blood. Worst case scenario, her aorta rips and she starts bleeding internally. We have to make sure that doesn't happen." When Alex finished explaining, Kara and Maggie looked overwhelmed by the information, but they understood it.

Kara looked through the window. Lena was on the table, two surgeons hovered over her, stitching her up. Lena looked so pale.

(Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I felt horrible writing this. Lena's my lil bean. I love her so much.😂😭)
