Sorry Won't Fix A Thing

One Week Later

(OMG GUYS EMINEM and RIHANNA JUST CAME UP ON THE RADIO RIGHT NOW. K sorry for the interuption only THREE DAMN WORDS IN)

Supergirl was lying on the floor of Lena's bedroom with a shard of kryptonite below her heart. Lena ran to her and cried next to her. Lena... Lena... "LENA!"

Lena jolted awake. Kara was standing beside Lena. The younger woman had beads of sweat on her forehead.

"Babe, what's wrong?" Kara sat next to Lena on the bed and let the girl rest her head on her shoulder.

"I-I had a nightmare... about you." Lena added the last words quietly.

Kara furrowed her eyebrows, "Is it something that you'd like to tell me about?"

"No." Lena said quietly.

"Okay, I understand Lena. You don't have to tell me unless you feel comfortable telling me." Kara didn't want to pressure Lena into telling her.

Lena was thinking. Going through the events before she had been shot in her head. Eventually it dawned on her. "You... you knew?" she asked Kara with tears in her eyes. "Is-is that why you wouldn't tell me?"

"Knew wha- Oh, Lena. No. Of course I didn't know." Kara put her hand on Lena's, but for the first time in a long time. Lena flinched and pulled her hand away.

"No Kara. You knew someone was getting shot and you didn't think to tell me." Tears we're streaming down her face now.

"Lena, it never crossed my mind that CADMUS would target you. I didn't want to worry you before your campaign."

Lena's jaw dropped, "My mother's organization was trying to kill someone. And you didn't think to tell me? What the hell, Kara?"

Kara didn't know how to respond, "I-I'm sorry, Lena."

"When are you going to realize that 'sorry' won't fix anything?!" Lena raised her voice. She hated raising her voice at Kara.

Kara stayed silent. "Please, Kara. Go before I say something else I regret." Lena said, choking back sobs.

Kara nodded and ran out of the apartment.
