Kara looked at the time groggily, 1:12 AM. Then she looked over at Lena, who was reading The Lies Of Locke Lamora. For the fourteenth time. "Lee, lets go to bed." Kara whispered. "Finish it tomorrow." Kara tried swatting the book away but she missed. In her defense she did have her eyes closed.

"It's alright, Princess. Just go to sleep. I'll be done with this chapter in a few minutes." Lena never took her eyes away from the book.

"No. Go. To. Sleep." Kara took the book from Lena and put it on the night stand on her own side.

"Fine." Lena said, sticking her tongue out at Kara.

Lena turned towards Kara and grunted. "There. Happy now?"

"Yes. Thank you." Kara put her arm around Lena's waist and tugged the shorter girl towards her.

Lena fit her head in between Kara's chin and her chest.

"I love you, Kara Danvers."

"I love you, Lena Luthor." Kara kissed the top of Lena's head, and went to sleep.

~ le next morning~

Lena woke up, in the same position as the morning before. But Kara had thrown her leg over Lena's and her arm was wrapped around Lena's torso.

When Kara woke up she looked down at Lena and smiled "Hey, baby."

"Good morning, Kara." Lena kissed Kara's chin.

The older woman smiled in response. "How'd you sleep?"

"Wonderfully. What about yourself?"

"Great."

Lena's phone started to vibrate on the nightstand. She rolled her eyes and answered it. "Hello?... Yes, this is she... and who are you?"

Lena paused for a moment and listened. Then her eyebrows shot up. "Veronica?" Lena grinned.

"Oh, I haven't spoken to you in ages... Yes, of course I remember... Really, you're in town?"

"I'd love to... Sure, I'll let you know later.. Alright, bye, Hon!"

Kara raised an eyebrow.

Lena hung up the phone and sighed. "Kara, I'm terribly sorry about that. Veronica's an old friend, and when she heard what happened she came to visit."

Kara shook her head, "No, don't worry about it. It's fine."

"Thank you. Well, I think I should get ready for work."

Kara raised an eyebrow, "For work? Lena, you can't go to work yet."

"Kara, I have to go back. I can't just leave my company, I've been gone long enough. I mean, if, and only if you feel you have to, you can go with me."

"Great, lets go!" Kara jumped up.

"Kara!" Lena whined.

~ two hours later ~

"Kara, you don't have to stay. I'll be fine. You can come pick me up later. I'll call you when I'm ready to leave." Lena said, not looking up from her computer.

"Are you sure?" Kara raised an eyebrow.

Lena looked up at the older woman and softened her expression. "I will be perfectly fine. Besides I'm doing much better now."

"Fine," Kara sighed, "but you're watching The 100 with me later. You've been putting it off for too long. Besides, Clarke is so hot you are literally going to die."

Lena chuckled, "Let's hope I don't."

"Okay, I'm going to go now. Umm... if you need anything call me. If I don't answer call Alex or Maggie. Even Winn or-"

"Kara." Lena interrupted, "I will be fine. Now go."

Kara put her hands up in defense and walked to Lena's side and kissed her. "I love you, Lena."

Lena smiled, "I love you too, Princess. Stay safe!"

~two minutes later~

Lena heard a knock on her door and sighed. "Kara, I told you that you could leave!"

The door opens slowly and Lena smiles at the sight of a familiar face. "Veronica Sinclair. It's been ages since I've seen you in person."

"Lena." Veronica smiled and walked over to the woman in the wheelchair. "It's been so long. You look prettier than you did in high school."

Lena smiled, "You flatter me."

Veronica smiled and walked around Lena's office. "I've got to admit, you've received quite the upgrade."

"Thank you. Mother doesn't appreciate the amount of white there is," Lena chuckled softly, "she said that if I got blood on the couch it would be a nightmare to get out... foreshadowing I presume."

"Lena are you sure you're alright? You seem out of it. Even for you."

Lena nodded, "I'm positive. Don't worry about me." getting back to her work.

"What are you working on?" Veronica walked behind Lena and looked over her shoulder.

"The board wants me to send in ideas for a new product. I'm making a list of my ideas so they can pick one."

"Oh." Veronica walked to the front of Lena's desk. "Well, I've got to get going but maybe I can come visit another day."

"Of course, Veronica. You're always welcome." Lena smiled at the woman standing in front of her.
