**A Month and a Half later**

October 21st. School is now in full swing, the tests and lessons are starting and Cross Country has had over half of their meets already. Ever since Jeremiah and Samantha did that thing a few weeks back, I haven't really talked to them. There relationship is more serious and I'm caught up in studies. Lately, during lunches, Sam and Jeremiah have been ditching me to sit with other people. I would tag along but there are never any seats avaible at the round table they sit at. I just go and listen to music during lunches because non of my friends have the same lunches that I do. Occasionally during lunch I will try to sneak a glance at Jeremiah but he is too absorbed into what his friends are saying to notice me. Notice Me Senpai. (I'm sorry guys, I couldn't help myself).

The bell rang for me to go back to my 3rd period class since I have lunch in the middle of art class. This week we were working on landscaping with acrylic paints. I was creating the Rocky Mountains at sunset with the snowbanks looking a shade of pink. There was also a river in the valley beneath the mountains. After the rest of class went by, I dreaded going to calculus because I sit next to Jeremiah. In the class we were working on a video project where we had to show and explain how calculus concepts are used in the real world. This project requires us to work together and hang out to work on it. If it weren't so awkward between us, I'd be fine with it.

All we did was take notes on something and we worked on some classwork. The only thing that I could think about was how I can't wait till practice; whenever I run, I feel free and I don't think about anything else. All my mistakes, problems, and thoughts just go away.

"Excuse me Ada, can you please pay attention to the lesson?"

"Yes ma'am." I said spitefuly through my teeth.

"OOOOOOOHHH." The whole class spoke out.

I glanced toward Jeremiah to see him looking in my direction. He quickly broke his gaze and looked down. I bit my lip and started to quickly write down my notes. I couldn't help but crack a smile after seeing Jeremiah's hazel eyes wonder in my direction. I couldn't help but feel all giddy inside.

The bell rang and everyone packed up their stuff and scurried to their cars and buses to get home. Jeremiah and I walked out of the classroom together and Samantha was waiting patiently. As soon as Jeremiah stepped foot into the hallway, Samantha entwined their fingers together and they walked away leaving me behind them. I felt a ping of hurt run through my heart, my heart tearing a little. Each little gesture they make as a couple makes my heart tear a bit, eventually I won't even be able to handle it anymore. All I think is that I am nothing to them, just a little speck of dirt on their hearts, lost and lonely.

After standing outside the classroom for a minute, I snapped out of my train of thought and I hurried to the locker rooms for practice. As I was walking to the locker room, I saw Jeremiah and Samantha in one of the small nooks off of the normal hallway that held lockers, hanging out and acting all lovey dovey.

"Hey guys, are you two gonna be at practice?" I asked with curiosity, fiddling my fingers. I looked down and then glanced up at them subtly.

"Adunno, we were thinking about skipping it cause we are kinda tired." Samantha spit out quietly. Jeremiah looked down, his face turning scarlet red all the way down to his neck.

"Have fun I guess, don't get caught eating each other's faces though." I winked and chucked slightly. This only caused Jeremiah's face to darken and Samantha's face to turn red. I walked away slowly with a slight sway, trying not to burst out into laughter. Their reactions were just priceless, if only I had it on video.
