Amaani's P.O.V

"My, my precious...you look so gorgeous. Aren't I very lucky? Red suits you so much. I can't wait for the celebrations to be over.." Vimal whispers in my ear making me shudder in disgust. Tears line my eyes and I'm trying as hard as I can not to burst out crying.

The crowd have been filing in for the last half an hour. Almost all the crowd is in, even if they are packed and overflowing out of the hall. I've been sitting next to this spawn of hell for the half an hour as well. All he has been doing is taunting me, making me feel very uncomfortable.

My heart aches and is beating incredibly fast almost breaking out of chest. Nervous breaths leave my mouth and I bite my lips in anxiousness as I clutch my hands decorated in ornate mehendi.

Suddenly, one of the other entrance doors for the hall opens and a guard which is slightly bloodied comes in quietly. Vimal's facial expression instantly changes from mischievous to confused. My face stays blank, I think this may be it. I alert myself, making sure to focus on their conversation intently.

The guard comes up to Vimal kneeling beside him and begins to talk nervously as Vimal glares.

"U-Uh Your majesty. We h-have a slight problem." The soldier stutters our and Vimal quietly hisses clenching his fists as he replies whispering, "Well I can see that, by your messy appearance. The people are looking at you idiot and are getting suspicious. What's happening?"

My eyes scan the crowd and see them staring at the messy soldier in either confusion or blankness. My heart starts to palpitate faster in hope and excitement.

"Well..there is an attack happening. There are so many foreign soldiers which have breached the servant entrance and are currently battling with our men." The soldier says looking quite frightened.

Vimal smiles at the crowd like nothing has happened and they stay confused yet slightly fearful. An attack it seems? By foreign soldier now is it? Hmm..how familiar. My eyes gleam in gratefulness. Yes! It seems they are here and have already started! Thank you Lord!

Vimal has an expression of trying to keep calm and refined on his face making me try desperately not to just get up and run. Keep calm and focus Amaani.

Gritting his teeth he questions quietly, "I see. Are they winning?"

"I don't know, as soon as they started I ran over here." The soldier splutters out.

"Send more men immediately. Alert the head of the guards now." He hisses, his jaw locking in fury.

"Yes your majesty!" The soldier quietly yelps back.

As the soldier runs off and out of the hall, I hear the crowds murmurs get louder; they seem alert that something is going on.

"Hush, now! Do not disturb the ceremony!" He yells at the people angrily and they all flinch and immediately settle in sickening silence.

The muttering of Vimal reaches my ears and a small smirk makes it's way onto my lips and I gulp down remaining refined. I feel a hand on my shoulder as I turn my head up diagonally meeting two brown irises, Jayanti. She raises an eyebrow at me and I give her a subtle squeeze on her hand as a signal that the men from Idukki have arrived. Jayanti nods discreetly in response.

I turn my head back facing the disturbed crowd and I continue to hear Vimal's muttering. I pay close attention.

"Why now? Right, don't let the crowd know what's going on, otherwise it will become chaos. My men will take care of it. Calm Vimal, calm myself down." He continues to mutter and ramble furiously.
