I'm done with pushing. It's mentally and physically exhausting.

"The baby is almost here! One more push!"

I do as the doctor says. The nurses scramble. They cut the cord and whisk her away to check up on her. There is a delay between the time that the baby is born and the time she starts to cry. When I finally hear her screams, I give a sigh of relief. I watch as the nurses clean, weight, measure, and wash her. She is then put into a little plastic cradle thing and I am told to start pushing again.
