Shelby's POV

"What'd you think about that?!" Toria hollered, proving to us that she was good at shooting the puck at a pinned target. Danika told her to attempt to shoot the crossbar, and she was able to all right. The puck ricocheted off the cross bar hitting Liam in the stomach as he was ten feet from shooting. I guess he didn't see that she was shooting or she didn't seem him. But either way, Liam doubled over at the other end of the rink.

"That's gonna hurt," Danika said, looking away. I skated up where Liam was alongside Oliver and Finn. The other two joined.

"Sorry Liam, I didn't mean for that to happen," Toria explained.

Oliver brought his arm around Liam, under his arm, helping him off the ice and held him up. "Nah, it's all right,"

Hearing the sound of ice being shaved as someone stopped abruptly, we all look up or turn our heads, seeing Coach Mercier appear. "What happened here?" He asked, looking at Liam.

"Victoria shot at the net. Her puck rebounded from the crossbar-"

"I see. Let's go bud, Miss Brantford will help you... As for the rest of you. Line up!" Everyone gathered in a line. Coach split the line in two. Toria, Danika, and I stood in the back row line. I kinda figured that we'd be doing some exercises. We have practice tomorrow at the field to work on different muscle exercises and crap. Coach is mixing it up a little. "Run on the spot, if you somehow manage to fall, you're skating two laps. Let's go, ten minutes,"

We all started running on the spot. It was different on the ice because we got knives as shoes and they glide on the ice. So it's not the same as being off the ice with flat soled shoes. Within seconds, Jayden fell and Coach called him out to get on his laps. At least he had padding, he was one of our goalies for Pete's sake! We had regular padding while he had extra.

Coach paced back and forth in front of us. The kids in the back line were between the players of the first line, but far enough back that both lines would have enough room to move around. "Iceland's a tough team to beat. They've won their first game, and coincidentally so has USA. Which means we need to up our game. USA won by seven points. Both of these teams are powerfully strong. They've got exceptional players, but we're better,"

"Yeah!" Half of the boys and Danika had hollered, throwing an arm in the air to cheer the team on. Jayden returned to his spot between Kyler and Thomas. Toria was on the end, Danika was next to her, and then it was me. Next to me was Riley and he talked a lot. All the boys did and they were incredibly weird and cocky. They're cocky pretty boys, let's go with that.

"In order to outwit the others teams. We need to train hard and work together. Which means what, Luke?" Coach asked, stopping in front of Luke.

Luke wasn't paying attention, instead he was fooling around with Daniel. Daniel had smartened up while Luke kept bragging about shit. He looks up, and stopped running on the spot. I hear Danika chuckle and looked over, seeing her slowly go to the ground laughing as she tapped the ice with her gloved hand. Toria had fallen down on her stomach. I laughed and Coach blew his whistle. "Two laps, Hoffman!"

"Sucker," I replied.

"Two laps, Morin!" I looked over, astonished, and gasped.

"What'd I do?" I asked, putting my arms in the air as I skated out of line and towards Coach. He looked at me and I skated off, not wanting to know what he had to say. I skated right by Victoria and laughed in her face as she was trying to look at her elbow, but couldn't seem to see because the sleeve of her practice jersey was rolled up too far for her to see.

Skating by, the entire team was laughing as Coach had made Luke run two laps with Toria and I. The team had quieted down. After the three of us finished our laps, coach had us stop running on the spot. He had put Kyler in net, splitting up the forwards and defense. In three lines, the forwards stood together next to one another. Defense stood on either side of the ice in their respective lines.

"Forwards, you're going to practice your offense while defensemen are going to practice their defense. I don't want a single puck to enter that net. Go," Coach Mercier replied.

Miss Brantford was on the bench watching everyone while correcting some of our schoolwork. If we don't do school while we're here, we're apparently ineligible to play. It's beyond stupid, even Toria said it was stupid, and the entire team agreed with her. We came here to play hockey and leave school behind, but somehow it managed to follow us.

Liam was back on the ice in Danika's line with Bryce.  I had Finn and Riley. Toria had Cameron and Thomas. Our defense was Daniel, Alexander, Luke, and Oliver. The first five headed out and the rest of us watched. Bryce went center with Finn on his left and Toria on his right. Defense that they had to get by in order to shoot was Alexander and Oliver.

Bryce passed the puck to Toria with caution, and slowly at that. She skated up towards the net, seeing that Oliver was there, she passed it back to Bryce, who passed it to Finn quickly. Alex and Oliver kept a close on the three of them while Kyler looked like he was trying to see where the puck was but had difficulties because of the five people in front of him.

Coach was watching from the sidelines. But stopped the play when Finn made the bad choice of sending it across to Toria, when she was currently being blocked and it wasn't clear. Bryce managed to get past Alex and by the net, but still, Finn passed the wrong way. "That my friends was a bad play. Next time Bryce, I expect you to be out in the open and not behind defense. Toria I expect you to move so he has someone to pass to. It takes seconds, not even, to steal a puck from a player,"

With the puck in hand, Coach called five new players to take their spots. Continuing, we stayed doing the exact same thing for the rest of practice because no one was able to do it the way Coach Mercier wanted it done. It was tiring after awhile of doing the same movements over and over again, and watching the same people, and hearing the same people whine.
