I combed my fingers back through my hair in agitation.  A disagreement had broken out between the others.  They were all vying for the opportunity to be Sang's security escort to the concert.

Gabriel was arguing that he should be there to handle any wardrobe issues.  North had dug his heels in and even Silas was losing patience.

When Owen and Sean finally arrived, I hoped they'd be able to defuse the situation.

One of the others shouted something that was quickly overwhelmed when Silas boomed out a groan. Another cycle of arguing began, with everyone shouting loud enough that no one could hear anyone else. At least no one was swinging fists yet.

Owen walked in, saying nothing. Sean stood beside him, watching. I caught Sean's gaze and gave a nod. No one else acknowledged them, and they might not have really noticed them entering. They continued to argue.

"Enough," Owen barked at them in the silence. "We can't all attend the event with Miss Sorenson. It would be a logistic nightmare for KOTIS.  If this sort of immature squabbling is going to continue, then I will request the Council assign someone from a different squad."

They all erupted with objections to that solution. He put up a hand and immediately everyone was silenced. I couldn't help but notice Owen had included himself there.  Sean clearly noticed too and shot me a wink.

He turned to Kota. "Tsen Lee, you have been scheduling time for Miss Sorenson to spend individually with our squad members, correct?"

The expressions on a few of my brothers' faces meant some of them hadn't realized this about their meetings with Sang. Did they really expect anything less than for Kota to formalize dating?  He probably had written it all up in proper KOTIS report format.  Which I wouldn't put past Owen requiring.

"Yes," Kota nodded.  "I believe most have had some one-on-one interaction with Sang over the past kaone."  A couple of throats were cleared and loaded expressions shared.  Kota glanced around and amended, "There are a few whose time has been cut short...myself included...by various factors, but for the most part, scheduling is working better than relying on spontaneous opportunities."

Owen replied, "Good, please continue on that track.  Now, does anyone have a reasonable suggestion to determine who will attend the event with Tset Morgan and Miss Sorenson?"

Sean's eyes gleamed mischievously and his gaze flickered to a few of us.  Uh oh.

"Well," Sean interjected, "In our last meeting we agreed that the progress of relationships would probably vary, but we should try to keep things on a fairly equal footing, correct?"

"Yes," Owen admitted with a reluctant sigh.

Sean's smirk grew.  "Then I recommend that anyone who has kissed or been kissed by Miss Sorenson be excluded."

A variety of looks went around, from surprised to suspicious to downright jealous.

I decided to chime in, "Well, I am automatically out since I am performing." I sat down quickly.  Ha, let them stew over whether she'd kissed me or not yet.

Sean shot me a knowing look and excused himself due to MedBay obligations. Nathan sat with a slight blush, Silas smirked and gave North a friendly punch to arm, Luke and Gabriel share a knowing look then proudly sit.

North and Kota were left staring at Owen.  Both a little chagrined.

"Um," Owen cleared his throat, self-consciously, "I, uh, have an assignment with Tsur Buble on Kessine." He stepped back and motioned to Kota.  "I believe you also have some family to visit that night as well, Tsen Lee."

Kota looked at North, regret lining his face, "I do need to see my mother and sister.  Take care of her."

Kota must have added something over the Interface because North cocked an eyebrow and then nodded.

Suddenly, Gabriel leaped back up and pointed to North.  Evil glee radiated in his words, "Fuck yes.  I get to dress North in something besides black for disguise. You're mine, fucker!"

North paled.

Suddenly, no one else was quite so disappointed.  Gabriel's plans for North were sure to almost make up for losing a night out with Sang.

A/N: Sorry, I've been MIA.  One more week of this class, two essays to go, and I can finally focus on fun writing again.  Gabriel is going to have fun with North's disguise, or at least torturing him up until the day of.  Hee-hee.
