My eyes shot open, once again not getting an ounce of sleep. It seemed like ever since I move to Mystic Falls, I was never able to get to sleep. But now, instead of mysterious dreams, I was kept awake by the desire to tear someone apart. It had gotten better each day, but my emotions were through the roof. The worst thing was, I had no one to share it with.

Along with my heightened emotions, I had a growing migraine, probably from the lack of sleep. My eyelids were cinderblocks as I sat up on my now put together bed to observe my surroundings. The Sun was slowly rising on the horizon, it's rays gliding through the gradient sky.

"I need coffee," I lazily slid out of bed wearing nothing but my rose pink nightgown and adidas shorts that weren't visible through the length of the gown.

I pulled my messy chestnut hair into a messy bun on top of my head as I walked downstairs to the kitchen. My ears perked up at the sound of footsteps outside of the door. My eyebrows raised at the thought of who would be at my door so early in the morning. I grunted once the doorbell rang, assuming it was Caroline since she was the only one who would ever get up this early.

I reached to open the door, ready with a response for Caroline's visit.

"You know Caroline, if you wanted to bother me- " I stopped once I saw who was really at the door.

"Hello," the tidy vampire greeted with a smile, "I didn't mean to bother you so early in the morning." He looked down at my attire.

"No, you didn't bother me, it's just," I was scrambling to find something to say, "I didn't get much sleep anyway." I scratched the back of my neck.

"Not to be rude, but why are you here?"

"I believe you have something that belongs to me," He places a designer shoe closer to the door frame.

"Oh yea," I reached over to grab his suit jacket from the nearby coat rack and held it in my hands, still inside of the threshold to my home.

"May I come in to retrieve it?" He asked calmly. I shook my head.

"I don't trust you enough to invite you in yet, mysterious stranger." I stepped out onto the front porch with bare feet. "Here you go." I handed him his suit jacket carefully, he looked like someone who was a stickler for clothing.

"Fair enough," Elijah turned around to leave, but stopped, only to face me again. "How has your transition been?"

"It's fine," I said quickly, but the both of us knew I was lying. "I mean, it's not ideal, but I'll manage."

"I'm sure you will."

That was the last thing he said before speeding away, leaving behind no evidence of him being there. I huffed and retrieved into my warm house to make some well-needed coffee.

The rest of my coffee melted into my mouth, my eyes slowly prying open. My phone rang as I swallowed the last drop. I picked up my phone from a nearby counter, seeing the contact of who was calling me.

"Hello Caroline," I said monotonously, still not feeling fully awake. "This better be an emergency."

"It is." I heard a door close. "Tyler came by my house. He knows about Stefan and Damon being vampires."

"How did he find out?" I had no idea if he knew that I already knew about it. If he did, he was going to pay me a visit next.

"I don't know, but he also knows about his uncle Mason."

"What about his uncle? Didn't he leave town?"

"Oh... um..." Caroline started stuttering, "Stefan and Damon kind of killed him."
