"You're walking too fast." Kennedy's hands were balled into fists as she followed Damon into the Mystic Grill. After a minor lecture from the Salvatore, Kennedy was able to convince him to let her tag along. Once he entered the heavily populated restaurant, Damon quickly walked with narrowed eyes and sealed lips. The tension in the air was so palpable that Kennedy could claw her way through it.

She was so focused on keeping up with Damon's strides that she didn't see an oncoming waiter cut in front of her. They clashed in an instant, causing a metal tray of drinks to fall to the floor. Kennedy rushed to the floor to conceal her face, which was now red with embarrassment. "I'm so, so sorry." This was the first time in a while that Kennedy was reduced to a blubbering mess. She began picking up the empty cups and laying them neatly on the tray.

"I'm glad I decided to use plastic cups this time." The male waiter let out a slight chuckle, "Otherwise this would have been a disaster".

"Sorry." Kennedy's eyes stayed fixed on the puddle of soda that was expanding. "I just gave you an extra mess to clean up."

"Stop apologizing Kennedy," he said politely.

The use of Kennedy's name made her face the waiter. "Miles?" Kennedy's embarrassed visage was replaced with a small smile.

"In the flesh." Miles picked up the last cup and stood up. "I literally see you everywhere. At this point, I could say you're following me." He bantered.

"Don't flatter yourself." Kennedy's smile widened slightly. She waved with two fingers before stepping over the puddle to pass Miles. She spotted Damon who was at the bar sitting next to his old friend Alaric. A familiar man with dusty blonde curls and greenish eyes stood by them with his eyes focused on Damon. Something about him seemed awfully familiar to the little warrior, but she couldn't figure it out. As she approached the trio, segments of the conversation became easier to hear.

"Let's get to it. I killed you. You want revenge." Damon shrugged. "Get in line." Damon deadpanned before taking a sip from whatever alcoholic drink was in front of him. He tried to dismiss the man but he didn't budge. The scent of the mystery man became clear to Kennedy as she took a seat next to Damon at the bar.

"Actually, I want an apology." The man's face was completely serious, earning a laugh from the wolf and the human.

"Good luck with that." Alaric took a sip from his glass.

Kennedy opted to stay silent. From what she could smell, the man was obviously a wolf. She needed to observe every part of the conversation before deciding how to proceed next.

"Don't you have a family to haunt?" Damon started, "You know your nephew has turned into a mindless hybrid Minion." He was clearly trying to avoid giving an apology.

"That's why I'm here. To help Tyler." The wolf nodded towards Kennedy. "And her."

Kennedy's eyes widened in shock. She pointed a finger to her chest as if to say "Are you talking to me?"

"I've been watching you and Tyler on the other side". His mouth turned into a small frown. "I know you're Tyler's cousin. My niece."

"So you're Uncle Mason." She mumbled in realization. It was quite refreshing for her to meet another member of her biological family.

"Well, sorry to break it to you, buddy, but your niece is off-limits and Tyler can't be helped. At least not while Klaus is alive." Damon sighed, "Which is, like, always."

"Not necessarily." Mason's serious expression went away. "Not if you found a weapon that could kill him." A mischievous smile grew on his face. "Damon just has to apologize."
