Chapter 40: Blushing wild.

"So, What do you want to show me?" Niall asked, as Angelina closed the door.

She turned towards him, and shrugged, smiling sheepishly once again.

Niall raised one eyebrow. Something Angelina always wanted to learn.

"Oh, why didn't I figure that out before?" Niall asked, with a knowing smile, coming closer to her.

Then he stopped in his tracks, his eyes curious.

"But, how did you know that your Dad finally wouldn't follow?" He asked.

"I know my parents, Niall." Angelina said, rolling her eyes with a smile.

"And speaking of your dad, he certainly is not 'chill'." He said, over exaggeratedly air quoting the word.

Angelina chuckled.

"Okay, maybe not to you. But most of the time, he is." She pointed out.

"I was the most nervous I've been." He revealed.

"Really? Cause you looked very confident." She said.

"It's called acting. I don't have a movie for nothing." Niall said, smirking.

Angelina chuckled.

"Yeah, that movie. You didn't 'act' in that. You were just, yourself."

"I know. Just kidding." He said, chuckling.

And then it was silent. Not exactly an 'awkward' silence, but it wasn't very comfortable either.

There was some... tension, in the air.

Angelina sighed, and turned towards her bookshelf.

It was pure white, with a lot of compartments. She loved every inch of it. Books practically ruled her life.

She walked towards it, and stopped to simply look at the books.

And smiled. Each of them held a memory. Either that book was a gift, or she had saved for the book and bought it.

Her eyes gazed further ahead, and stopped to look at the amazing Who We Are book.

That was one special book. She had loved reading every word of it.

It had definitely got her closer to the boys.
Without them knowing.

Her Dad knew how much she loved One Direction, and as soon as the book came out, he had surprised her by buying it.

She remembered that day clearly.

It always brought a massive grin on her face.

She carefully removed the book from the shelf and placed a loving hand on it.

"What're you looking at?" She heard, his voice so close to her. It got vibrations in her chest.

Niall's head was peaking between her neck and shoulder.

He was painfully close, but not touching.

"Oh." He said, as he read the book title.

But all Angelina could concentrate on, were his lips that were so close to her ear, her neck. So close.

She sucked in a breath, when he didn't move from his position, and her breath hitched when he smoothly placed his warm hands on either sides of her waist.

"Did you like it?" He whispered, his lips hovering over her ear.

Angelina felt like she had forgotten how to breathe.

"W-What?" She said.

"The book. Did you like it?" He repeated.

"Yeah." She whispered, biting her lower lip.

"And..." he drawled.

It was like he knew. He knew what he was doing to her.

Curse him for that.

"Is it the original one? The signed one?" He finally asked.

"Yeah." She barely said.

"Yeah, it is." She repeated, clearer this time.

"Good."

Niall smirked.

Angelina could feel it.

That cheeky–

And then all of a sudden, he withdrew, and he was stood at a respectable distance.

"When's lunch going to be ready?" He causally asked, his eyes amused.

Angelina could feel the anger boiling up inside her.

He can't do this!

According to her, he should've either done something, or nothing at all.

Something was definitely wrong with her. She had never had such thoughts before.

"How am I supposed to know?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Woah. Okay, sorry." Niall put up his hands in defence.

Just then, Angelina got a message.

She unlocked her phone to reveal a message from her own mother.

From: Mom
Lunch is ready. Didn't want to disturb you guys. If, you know.

Angelina immediately switched off her phone, her eyes widening as her cheeks turned red at lightning speed.

Oh God.

"Who messaged?" Niall asked.

"No one!" She said, a little too quick.

"Obviously, someone did." He said, his eyebrows raised.

"Just a friend." She shrugged.

Niall looked at her for a while.

"It's not some friend." He concluded.

"How can you say?"

"What are you hiding, Lina?" He asked.

And that nickname, she couldn't resist.

"It's nothing important. Come on, lunch is ready." She dismissed it.

"Why would you hide something from me? I thought we were friends." Niall actually looked hurt.

Angelina sighed.

"Fine. Look at it. But don't tell me then." She handed him her phone, after opening that particular message and looked away, not wanting to see his face.

She peaked a little, only to see Niall smirking at the phone, his ears slightly pink.

"Do you want to make your mom's insight true?" He asked, smugly.

"Wha– No!" She said, biting her lip and blushing wildly.

Niall laughed, " Come on, lunch is ready."
