IMPERFECTION (AN INTERCULTURAL LOVE STORY )

Journey

This week is gonna be a hectic one for me. I'm very sure of that. It's my  bestfriend Salamat's wedding . She's getting married to  the love of her life Aazim.

Salamatu is a very nice person,she  is the nicest human i ever met  so I can't miss her wedding even if it means I have to travel down to Abuja 

Salamat stays and works in Lagos but her Parent lives in Abuja. Aazim  also lives  in Abuja.
Most of our friends can't make it simply because of the distance

She's just like a sister to me. We live  together  in the same apartment.  We literally do things together.  She is my bff , my forever ride or die

Salamat  already left for Abuja three weeks ago,she had to prepare for her  wedding

I've packed my bags already. I'm ready to leave for the airport. But before that,I have  to stop at my parent's  house, my mom wants to give me the presents she has for salamat. My mom knows Salamat also , She's just like a daughter to her.

"Mum why do I have give her all this" I whined when I saw all she wanted me to give to Salamat

"Because I want you to" she said with a strict face

"See, i can give her this sets of plates and the cooler but I can't be carrying Dried fish,garri ijebu and  palm oil up and down the airport. Abi you don't know am flying "

"If you like fly, if you like jump. Eyen o kan mi.( I don't care) sha give it to her for me. Tell her not to be angry that I couldnt make it "

"Ooooooo" I whined. One thing about my mom is that you can't argue with her. You'll surely lose.

"Sha give her. And don't forget to give Iya Seun that second Garri. I told her you are coming" Iya Seun is her aunt who stays in Abuja also. I rolled my eyes but made sure she didn't see it because my mom , hmmm. Just don't let me talk

I've agreed to do what she asked. I was about to start leaving when she called me back
"Anuoluwapo wa (come) " I went back and sat beside her on the couch

"Ore e lo tin lo ile oko yi.(your friend is getting married now) When would you too settle down. Age is no longer on your side"

Not this time again.

"Mummy I've told you don't worry, when the time comes, I'll get married. E ma worry" she sigh

"OK oo, I've heard you "

"Alright  bye mummy"

"Bye oko mi. God would guide you. Save journey dear and don't forget what I told you to do" she added

I already ordered Uber and it just arrived . I carried my bag and the one my mom gave me in the truck before I entered the passengers seat.

"M.M 2" i told the driver and he started driving

I've arrived Abuja, I've done all the necessary things at the airport. I called a cab and told him I was going to Garki area 2 my grand aunt's house.

This is not the first time I've been to Abuja. I've been coming to Abuja since  I was a baby.

When I got to my aunts house, the Taxi driver helped carry my belongings from the car. I was paying the Taxi driver when someone jumped on me

"Aunty Anu"She squealed. I didn't see the person until she let go of me. When I saw who it was I was shocked because the last time I saw this  girl she was I think 15 now she's a lady
