KENZIE'S POINT OF VIEW

"truth," i sighed, as the bottle landed on me. lauren's skills with the bottle never ceased to amaze me.

i saw lauren smirk, and immediately changed my choice to dare. lauren's smirk didn't disappear. what was this kid planning for now?

"dare it is," she chuckled. "just get on with it," i groaned. "okayy i dare you to johnny's room, sneak out with his phone, and keep it with you, all night," lauren slyly smiled.

i shrugged, pretending as though it wasn't really a big deal, and got up and left.

i walked to johnny's room and lay down in front of his door. i peered through the bottom, and the room seemed empty. tentatively, i pushed the door open, and went inside. this made my job easier.

i scanned the room for his phone until it dawned on me that no johnny would mean no phone, seeing as he would have it with him. well, this backfired.

i was about to leave, when i heard him yell, "i'm
home." i hurriedly slipped under his bed, so he wouldn't see me.

he entered, and threw his phone onto the bed, before walking to the washroom. i took my chance, and rubbed his phone before softly exiting his room.

i happily ran back to lauren's room, proud of my victory. they all chuckled at how delighted i was. soon enough we were back into the game.

i spun the bottle and it landed on annie. "truth," she instantly replied. "okay, uhh...have you and hayden ever kissed?" i asked her, grinning.

she nodded, and all of us let out high pitched squeals. "when?" i asked her, excited. "last week," she softly replied, her cheeks scarlet.

lauren and i did a small jig around the room, while annie covered her face, obviously embarrassed.

just as we were about to twirl, johnny burst into the room. "laure- oh..you have friends over..." johnny said, seemingly flustered at having walked in on us.

"shocker," she sarcastically rolled her eyes. "where's my phone," he ignored her snarky comment. "how am i to know?" lauren carelessly shrugged, while i turned red.

just then johnny and i locked eyes, but i immediately looked away, even thought i could feel his lingering stare.

"yeah, yeah, i totally believe you, but screw that. do i have your permission to talk to kenzie? alone?" johnny sarcastically asked lauren, a fake smile on his lips.

"oh of course! anything for jenzie," lauren responded in a sickly sweet tone, she had specially reserved for johnny.

i reluctantly got up, shooting her a glare, before following johnny out of the room. we walked to his room in silence, and we end inside. i stood at the door, nervous of what to expect.

"coming?" johnny's husky voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "uh..yeah," i replied, entering his room.

i gingerly day on the edge of his bed. "kenzie, are you okay?" johnny finally asked me, breaking the awkward silence that had settled.

"y-yeah. why would i be?" i asked him. "well, you've been avoiding me all day.." he stated. "i wasn't!" i protested, surprised that he'd noticed.

"okay, well, maybe i was but only because you were with avery, and i didn't wanna interrupt," i lied. before he could reply, i got up. "the others are waiting. can i go?" he sighed, before nodding. i rushed out the door, and straight to lauren's room.

"what did he say?" "did y'all do anything?" "did he kiss you?" all of them bombarded me with questions, and for a moment, i forgot they still thought we were dating.

"my lips are sealed," was all that i said. i didn't feel like playing spin the bottle anymore so i excused myself and left lauren's room to go to the tv room.

i saw johnny there, and was about to back away, but he saw me. "oh, hey. what's up?" he raised his eyebrows questioningly.

not wanting to say i wanted to watch tv, for the fear that he may invite me to watch with him, i pulled out his phone. "umm...i came to give this to you," i said. "what?" "you phone." i handed it to him.

"why did you have it?" johnny asked me. "it was a dare..." i mumbled. "ah, okay," he nodded. without another word, i turned around and went back to lauren's room.

when i returned, they were all pouring over magazines, which was probably the most boring thing for someone to do.

finally, about an hour later, we went to bed. yes, an hour. i lay in bed for a while, thinking of all the problems in my life, until i finally dozed off.
