KENZIE'S POINT OF VIEW
•••

"will you give me a second chance?" i remained silent for a while.

this was what i had been craving for for the longest time, but now that the time had come, it just didn't seem right.

a second chance at a relationship was not something i wanted anymore. i was tired of my heart being broken numerous times, by the same person.

"maybe at a friendship, but i cant be in a relationship with you. i want to, trust me, but i can't." with that said, i rushed out of the kitchen, blinking away the tears threatening to fall.

i ran to my room, forgetting i had two sleeping girls there. both of them were surprisingly awake, on their phones.

"we were just coming do- kenzie!" annie exclaimed, when she saw me.

"what did johnny do? i swear to god-" lauren began but i stopped her. "it was me.." i trailed, and then went on to explain everything to them.

"your first day, and there's already drama," i sniffled, managing a small smile. "don't worry, kenz. y'all will sort it out," they comforted me.

"what would i do without the two of you," i wrapped them in a hug. "die," they replied in sync.

"i guess i should go talk to johnny," lauren got up. i sighed, but nodded.

i went the room where johnny was staying. it was in these serious situations where i knocked.

i heard muffled footsteps, and the water running. johnny had been crying. he rarely cried.

he opened the door, and i pulled him into a hug. i might fight a lot with him, but i still loved him. "it's gonna be okay.. y'all will sort it out," i comforted him.

"no. i don't think so. not this time," he mumbled. i looked at him, and knew i was right. his eyes were read and puffy from crying.

i was about to say something, when i saw heard footsteps behind me. kenzie awkwardly stood there, looking at the floor.

"well, i'll leave you two to it," i smirked, before walking out. looks like annie managed to knock some sense into kenzie.

once lauren left, i went and sat on the edge of johnny's bed. "what do you want?" he questioned, sounding pissed.

"i'm sorry.." i began. "for what?" he bluntly asked me.

"for not giving you the second chance you deserved. i guess i just know that i'll eventually fall for you, and then you'll break my heart, and i'll lose you altogether.." i answered, trying to calm my fluttering heart.

i watched johnny's face and saw his handsome features relax as he took in my words.

"kenzie, i told you why i was like that. i wanted you. if i have you, i wont need to do that. didn't you realise the moment we began fake dating, i never once cheated on you. if it were anyone else, i wouldn't have even dated them in the first place, but that was my way of bonding with you.. and no, i'm. it asking you to rate me. i just want to be friends. while fake dating we were friends. i want that now," he said.

i pulled him into a hug. "the second chance is all yours," i whispered into his ear. "it's appreciated," he murmured.

for the next hour, the four of us, and maddie had a harry potter marathon, which mostly consisted of us throwing popcorn at voldemort.

we have up at the third movie, and then decided to go old school and play monopoly. maddie was going shopping, so it was just us four.

"you do realise this isn't exactly old school," annie grinned when i voiced my thoughts. "yeah, yeah, whatever," i muttered.

we ended up playing in teams; jenzie, versus annie, according to annie and lauren.

"dibs on the car," i yelled when it was time to pick out pieces. "not fair!" lauren groaned. both she and i always had competition for the car.

once we got bored of monopoly, jenzie won, by the way, we decided to go for a party maisy had invited me for, consisting of her school friends.

it was probably going to be one of those cliché parties where cops arrived at the end, but that's okay. we didn't have anything better to do,
anyway.
