When I woke up I was surprised to find I couldn't open my eyes and in my half asleep state my mind started to race through the possibilities of having been captured. Once I had gathered my bearings I giggled realizing what it was and I reached up to pick the fuzzball from my face
"Trying to suffocate me huh?" I mumbled amusedly to the small cat
"I'm gonna bring you to work with me today, I think I'm just going to do classwork stuff" I said setting her down on the arm of the chair and leaning up to stretch. The sun was barely peeking through my window as I stood up and cracked my back, meandering towards my bedroom. After a quick shower I gathered all of the stuff I would need, letting Muffin ride on my shoulder as I made my way to the campus. I was early, especially seeing as my class wasn't until much later so I made myself comfortable in the teacher's lounge and pulled out my book of notes. I was so engrossed in making corrections to my notes that I was oblivious to the fact I was no longer alone.
"Hello kitten" A deep amused voice said across from me, making me shoot up from surprise, knocking my notes to the floor. Aizawa was sitting in a bright yellow sleeping back on the couch across from me, one arm poked out to pet Muffin who was pawing at his lap.
"Uh" I muttered dumbly, my mind momentarily shutting down from shock as I quickly ducked down to grab all my papers
"Sorry I didn't hear you come in" I murmured quietly, keeping my head down in the hopes of hiding my blush
"It seemed like you were working on something important so I didn't want to say anything" Aizawa said in a slightly lighter voice than usual. I peaked out through my bangs and saw him smiling down at Muffin who was rubbing her face into his palm
"You like cats?" I asked and he looked up at me
"Yeah, I have one too although I think she'd be too skittish to bring to work with me" He said and I smiled widely
"Whats her name?" Aizawa asked
"Uh Muffin" I said scratching my cheek lightly as he raised an eyebrow at me
"I didn't name her though, when I got her out of the tree she was stuck in there was a little girl that had been taking care of her but her mom was really allergic so they couldn't keep her. It felt wrong to change her name so I kept it" I explained and he nodded
"What about yours?" I asked curiously
"Mana" He said, the slightest bit of affection noticeable in his voice. I nibbled at my lip to contain my smile, trying not to come off as a complete creep
"You surprised me yesterday and I can honestly say that doesn't happen often" He said and I looked across at him to meet his dark eyes
"Sorry.." I said awkwardly, scratching the back of my head
"Don't be, it was my mistake and a good lesson to teach the students." He said, leaning back slightly as Muffin curiously peaked into his sleeping back.
