In My Mind

You are on my mind. 

Scratch that.

You are in my mind. 

Committing to relations with my logic. 

You pull at every chord of common sense, 

You set fire to every trusted wall of protection. 

You are in my mind, 

Playing with the memories, 

Giggling with the senses. 

I'll walk into a grocery store and your smile draws to mind. 

Into a coffee shop and your warm, caffeinated breath sends shivers down my spine. 

My walls are ashes, 

My memories are fragments of moments when your eyes found mine. 

I can no longer form intellectual words when I am in your presence.

I can barely contain my racing thoughts. 

I feel as though everyone can see right through me, 

Imagine the conclusions their minds must encounter...

Especially with my fluster as you kneel beside me and your eyes catch mine.

Is she just awkward or is this possibly what it looks like?

Look at me. 

Set my walls on fire. Burn them down. 

Rob me of my logic. Never give it back, for all I care. 

Blanket my brain with memories of the tiny times when our eyes meet. 

You are in my brain.

And there's just no getting you out.
