Cross Country

Let's drive across the country in a Cross Country.

Let's sing to cheesy love songs with the windows down, sun roof open, wind playing with our hair.

You can drive. I'll let you.

One condition, keep your eyes on the road.

Hands on the steering wheel.

Mind on your speed.

We have a lifetime ahead of us to hold each other, look into each other's eyes.

We have a life time to go fast, let's just move slow.

Pull over and take pictures of congregations of clouds and flocks of birds.

Take selfies at border stations.

Buy souvenir ponchos and sombreros and key chains with our names on them.

I'll tell you though, I never find my name on anything that's tourist-related.

We have a lifetime to prove me right on that note, a life time to search for any possible sign that you could prove me wrong.

My point is this;

I want a life time with you.

One where we get up and go,

One where we make every moment count, waste not a single kernel of time we could spend together on anything useless, meaningless.

Or, contrarily, malicious or terrible.

Drive across the country with me in a Cross Country,

with the music loud and the windows down and your hands on the wheel.

There's a long road ahead of us, look at it with me...

embrace it with me.
