Sewn In

I'm stuck thinking about you.
I can't get you out of my mind.
I promised myself a long time ago that this was it.
There's just been too much to think about, preventing me from keeping you away.
You're in my heart and you're in my lungs.
I breathe you in too hard and you are sewn into my heart with the threads of my breathing, where you circulate through my blood.
I never breathed you out.
I held it all in for too long.
And now you're stuck.
Stuck somewhere in my bloodstream.
And stuck inside my head,
But I'll be just fine.
You're not the worst battle I've had to fight,
Just one of the longest.
Just the most handsome of the group.
Just the one and only battle I sincerely don't want to win...
Even though I have to.
