You bit your lip so hard that it began to bleed a little. Your hands began to get clammy as you watched Levi slowly scroll through the texts you had received this morning on your phone. Why were you so nervous right now?
Probably because you feared how Levi would react.
The quietness of the library added on to your anticipation for Levi to say something--anything! The silence was killing you...
He finally placed your phone on the table; seeming eerily calm about the situation. You raised a brow and tilted your head to the side.
"So..." you trailed off. Levi's sharp gaze pierced through you like an arrow.
"Tch, so... what? Do you want me to call the police?" he asked. You shook your head immediately after.
"What? No! It's... it's not that serious," you started. "I just wanted you to see this. I was kind of getting scared..." Levi's gaze softened. He could see the slight nervousness in your eyes from the moment he saw you after his last class in the hallway. He had known something was up.
Levi pondered on the situation as he watched you twirl your phone in your hands. Did this mean somebody was stalking you? Or could this possibly be a joke to the person sending all these messages? Could it be someone from school?
"I'll probably ask Hange about it when I see her. Maybe she's just pranking me?" you suggested, your voice breaking through his thoughts.
"Tch, that makes sense," he muttered. "But if it isn't Shitty-glasses and her stupid antics, then who do you think it could be?" he inquired lowly. It was good to know every possible suspect.
You feigned a thinking expression (in which Levi found quite childish about you) before hopelessly shrugging your shoulders.
"I'm not sure," you confessed. "Judging by those texts, this is obviously someone I know or see every day..."
"...So, here--at school," Levi filled in. You snapped your fingers.
"Right!" you agreed. "But we don't know for sure... it could be someone in my neighbourhood, your neighbourhood... Oh! Maybe eve--"
You were cut off by a certain buzzing of your phone. You and Levi exchanged a glance. Somebody had just texted you. You slid the phone over to Levi. He raised a brow curiously as he grasped the device.
"I want you to unlock it," you explained lowly, begging him with pleading eyes. Levi sighed at your behaviour before unlocking your phone with his fingerprint (because you had insisted). He was met with a new message from another unknown contact.
Unknown: I'm back, sweetie.
Unknown: Did u think you could get rid of me?
Levi wanted to sneer, but he didn't. He kept a straight face (with the exception of a few mouth twitches), anticipating another message. Two seconds later, there was a new text. It seemed to be a digital file--a photo, maybe--that they had sent. Levi reluctantly opened the file, waiting for the screen to load.
His breath hitched.
"What? What is it?" you asked anxiously. Levi's form stiffened and you'd noticed. It got you worried. Had the message been that bad? Bad enough to make Levi freeze noticeably?
Levi slid the phone back to you and clicked his tongue, avoiding your eyes to look around the library. Whoever was sending these messages were definitely in the school. For now, that was all they knew.
