Joxel's Slut (1)

Nine

     Braden sat on the couch.

     Sir Locks had sternly ordered every sngle one of the orphans to go on with the day normally.

     Every single orphan had a smile on fheir face as they ran around the orphanage playing.

     This wasn't normal.

     Braden knew that if they did something wrong, they would have to deal with Sir Locks the next day.

     Braden sat on the couch silently making sure no one broke or messed anything.

     The adoptive parents were now here.

     There were only about five couples and a single mother.

     So far none of them had talked to Braden. There were a few glances towards her, but that was it.

     She wasn't surprised, no one would want to adopt someone who was about to be legal and out of their care soon. It would be kind of pointless.

     Braden looked over to her left to find Nina staring straight ahead with a saddened look on her face. Following to where she looked, Braden was kind of surprised.

     It was some adoptive parents talking to Heather.

     It must have been the first time that Braden saw a smile on her face. One that wasn't directed at Braden after one of her cruel jokes.

     Braden couldn't help but feel pity towards Nina.

     But when she looked over to Nina, she was surprised to find the single adoptive parent talking to her.

     Nina looked nervous, but you could see the excited smile on her face and the sparkle in her eyes.

     An hour later, the adoptive parents were gone and Sir Lock wasn't sober anymore, nor at the orphanage. He has left soon after the parents did, but of course, he didn't leave without throwing a few insults.

     Braden lay on her side on the bed. There was loud chattering in the room.Braden didn't talk to anyone in the orphanage, well, they never spoke with her.

     Braden couldn't help but listen to their conversations.

     "She was so sweet." It was Nina.

     "The couple I talked to were so cool. They said they were going to come back tomorrow." Heather spoke with excitement.

     "She didn't tell me that." Nina sounded disappointed.

     "I hope they will get out of this hell."
