Before evening came, Mu Ye and Wei ate a final meal with Hu Jiayi. Since his hand was injured, Mu Ye offered to help seeing as he was partly to blame for this.

He was also in a much better mood, having removed the Black Immortal's writings on him.

Seeing as Hu Jiayi wasn't so bad personality wise, Wu Xingxie decided to at least consider him a friend.

"I don't want you guys to leave." Hu Jiayi pouted like a little boy, holding onto Mu Ye's sleeve while he was trying to eat. Wei laughed at his childish actions, shaking his head.

"Don't be so childish. Mu Ye only came here because he lost a game of Xiangqi against me." He revealed, causing Hu Jiayi to think of an idea.

"Then if I win a game against you, will you stay?" Hu Jiayi asked seriously this time causing Mu Ye to look at him dumbfounded.

Before he could answer, Wei answered for him.

"No, we have to return to the capital by tomorrow. You're always free so why won't you visit us? Don't forget I'm a guard of the Wu family."

Of course, Hu Jiayi knew they were going to return today anyways so he wanted to see how male Wu Xingxie would react if he brought her name up.

"The Wu family? I heard they have a hidden beauty in their manor. Have you seen her face?" He asked, in a gossipy way. Hearing her name mentioned, Mu Ye glanced at Wei as a warning not to reveal too much.

Wei shrugged, as he simply replied,
"I don't know, she's very mysterious."

"Is that so? I would sure love to meet her. The capital's number one beauty is probably way better than the women here." Hu Jiayi commented, causing Mu Ye to mentally roll his eyes.

Although it was a complement towards his real identity, he couldn't help but say something.

"You guys are ridiculous. You haven't seen her and you believe all those rumors? Please, what if she was fat and looked like a pig, would you still be wanting to meet her?" Wu Xingxie had no problems with the way people looked but there's other people who hate on others without even knowing the person.

She hated those people who discriminated against others because of their appearance or background. For her, as long as they didn't have any weird or harmful intentions, she would be willing to befriend someone first or at least get to know them when she was given a chance.

Wei and Hu Jiayi heard the tone in his voice and looked at each other in confusion.

We were just praising you, no need to snap!

This Wu Xingxie was truly not normal.

"Ok Mu Ye, I apologize on behalf of my friend, so don't get angry at him. Don't you think he's lonely living here?" Wei tried to calm him down and Mu Ye sighed before standing.

"Let's go, the three days are nearly over and I have lots of things to do when we return." Mu Ye stated and by lots of things, he meant the progress of his revenge.

"Then farewell, I hope to see you again, Mu Ye." Hu Jiayi waved at him, smiling as if he wasn't scolded earlier.

Wei said his goodbyes as well before catching up to Mu Ye.

After Wu Xingxie and Wei were far way from the hut, he told her to now summon her spirit animal so that they could return.

Wu Xingxie complied and formed her serpent, but this time she didn't allow it to speak and turned it into a sword before it could say anything.

The journey back, Wu Xingxie remembered her time in the magical realm. It was a time when she met a white haired male. Seeing as he was injured and being the sympathetic person she was, Wu Xingxie naturally helped tend his injuries. She never thought he would be the one she would have married five years from now.

In her memories, she met him three years later, so did that mean he searched for her the remaining two years?

Wu Xingxie couldn't help but be taken aback by how things were so different this time.

She felt extremely grateful for being able to return and change things around. No one could understand the way she felt, losing the most important people in her life. Without them, nothing else mattered. Her life would still be empty and whether she lived or died mattered none.

Capital City. Wu Manor.

In the blink of an eye, three days had passed since Wu Xingxie and Wei's visit to Qinghai.

They returned successfully and found out that Master Wu had yet to return. Madam Wu was still going frenzy every time a servant mentioned the Master or his brother.
She acted like a spoiled child who couldn't get what she wanted.

"No one suspected a thing. The clones were perfect!" Yuyan narrated, telling what happened while the Eldest Miss was away.

"I forgot, Seventh Young Master has been training by himself using the books you had and made a breakthrough!" She added and Wu Xingxie's eyes brightened hearing the words.

Despite the veil, one could see her smile from her eyes. How could she not be overjoyed knowing her younger brother had reached a new level?

"Xuan'er is really gifted. I don't know what to do to show how proud I am."

The only person currently capable of making Wu Xingxie return to her soft side was her brother. He was her only weakness in the world. No matter how talented or smart other people were, the best one was her brother. Wu Xingxie loved her brother dearly, and he was her priority.

Of course, she didn't have a brother complex but because she grew up without love from both parents, she wanted to give her biological brother the love she didn't get growing up.
