"Wow, you've improved greatly in just three days, how is this even possible?" Wei had a look of surprise as he studied the younger male's physique and spiritual growth. Such a feat was amazing for a 12 year old.

"It's thanks to the clear instructions of these books I read." Wu Xuan smiled, showing Wei one of them. Wei glanced down at the book, and his eyed narrowed when he realized it wasn't Wu Xingxie's book.

"Where did you get these?" He asked and Wu Xuan replied,

"From Yuyan. I asked her if my sister had any useful books for cultivation and she told me she found them in my sister's storage. They're very helpful."

Wei felt suspicious because these books shouldn't be owned by the Wu family, or at least not in the possession of. If Yuyan got them from Wu Xingxie's storage, then where did the Eldest Miss obtain them from?

Unknown to him, the books were sent by none other than the Demon King, Bao Ling, who wrote them himself. He secretly had his people put them in Wu Xingxie's stack of books so they could be of use to her. Only, Yuyan saw them so she believed they belonged to her master and let Seventh Young Master borrow them.

"I see....." Wei's voice trailed off as he made a note to go see his Master later.

"I feel very different than anything. Wei gege, who taught you how to cultivate?" Wu Xuan, being a curious boy he is inquired.

A look of surprise became visible on Wei's face but he quickly calmed down, smiling.

"A great man taught me. He's someone who once you meet, you can never forget."

Wei stated proudly but he never imagined the day Wu Xingxie meets his Master would be a disaster.

After Wu Xingxie finished choosing a gift for Wu Xuan, she had Yuyan prepare it since she had other matters to attend to.

Yuyan wanted to ask where she was going but decided not to question her. As long as the Eldest Miss returned, everything was great.

Wu Xingxie concealed her presence as she gracefully walked into the Prime Minister's Estate. She was confident that her plans would work out well.

Without anyone noticing her, she teleported to where Madam Gu currently resided.

Wu Xingxie recalled how in the future, when Wu Dingxiang was going to be named Prime Minister, the wife of the former Prime Minister came storming in, blaming him for the death of her husband.

Of course, no one believed her since there were no evidence and she was labelled a madwoman. Who could blame her though? She did lose her husband and the murderer was still not found at the time.

At first, when Wu Xingxie heard of this incident, she felt bad for the woman and thought her words were simply not true. Now, her eyes had been opened and she was certain Wu Dingxiang was the culprit behind Prime Minister Gu's death.

***
Madam Gu had been exhausted from all the collection of information on her husband's death. Somehow, the evidence was useless as they gave no clue to who the killer was.

Just as she thought of taking a break, the doors to her chambers slid open, causing her to stiffen. She turned to the direction and saw a girl wearing a veil, covering her facial features. A powerful charisma could be felt from this young lady and Madam Gu's eyes widened.

She thought it was the murderer who killed her husband and now she was after her.

"Who are you?!" She asked in a stern voice, keeping up her guard, reaching for the nearest weapon.

Wu Xingxie remained silent as she continued walking closer. She knew the older woman couldn't lay a finger on her but she wanted to see her reactions.

"If you're here to kill me then don't think you'll leave here unscathed! Guards!" Madam Gu shouted for reinforcements but she was unaware that Wu Xingxie had set up a privacy shield so no one could hear them.

When no one came in, she took things into her own hands and lunged towards Wu Xingxie, ready to stab the girl.

Of course, Wu Xingxie simply dodged and grabbed the woman's wrist but not so harsh.

"Do you want to avenge your husband?"

Madam Gu froze when she heard those words.
It was obvious she wanted revenge. She wanted to kill the person responsible with her own hands!

Slowly, Madam Gu tried to escape from the stranger's grip but the girl's strength was much stronger.

"I can help you. If you're willing to work with me."

Once again, Madam Gu was stunned by her words. This girl wasn't the murderer but someone who wanted to cooperate with her?

"How can I trust you?" Madam Gu felt the hands on her wrist release its hold.

"I want to see the downfall of the Wu family. I know the head of the Wu family was behind your husband's death." Hearing the stranger's statement ignited a fire in Madam Gu's heart.

I knew it! It had to be Wu Dingxiang!

She turned to the veiled girl, with a serious look.

"You want me to work with you? Fine, I will help you as long as as you can reveal the truth behind my husband's death!"

Determination filled her voice and for some reasons, she had confidence in the girl's words.

"Very well. I promise you won't regret working with me." Wu Xingxie smiled underneath the veil, thinking of getting back the people who tried to harm her and her people.
