EXTENDED SUMMARY To put it blatantly, Dylan Mathers never shut the fuck up. Whether it was nervousness or just him having shit to say, he was always blabbering away, mouth running faster than a rushing stream.
He was the kind of person who always annoyed the hell out of Mike Wheeler. No, scratch that- he was the person who always annoyed the hell out of Mike Wheeler. The boy was in every single one of Mike's classes, always talking, whether it was to the teacher, to overanswer a question, or to whisper to a peer, and it was constantly driving Mike up the wall. There was a lot of built up tension between the two (mostly on Mike's part), and when Dylan was hired by Karen Wheeler to look after Holly one Saturday night, Mike was stuck alone in the house with him. Dylan talking and talking led to Mike's frustration being let out when he finally shut up the annoying boy- with a kiss.
NOTES:
- The babysitting & kiss thing should start before Will goes missing.
- Basically they're sitting in the living room after Holly's gone to bed and Dylan's blabbering about whatever and Mike can't fucking take it anymore so he just kisses him. Then he immediately stops like what the fuck and they just stare at each other
- Then Karen comes home and Dylan quickly leaves. It becomes awkward and they don't even look at each other at school but then they're walking down the street to look for Will and Dylan just kind of appears and asks awkwardly if he can join them
- Him and Mike do a lot of flustered eye contact and accidental hand touching and they have a couple awkward interacting scenes
- At Christmas, the two boys are hanging out in Mike's room, and Mike admits he doesn't hate Dylan and actually thinks he likes him, and Dylan's like 'Honestly? I've liked you for ages' and they have a nice little kiss.
- To give him a plotline in season 2? Him and Mike have broken up after dating in secret for like eight months, but it's been four months since then and Dylan still really likes Mike. But Mike is all moody & cutting himself off because he missed El or whatever so he broke up with Dylan. The season 2 part of the fic should revolve around Dylan trying to bring Mike out of his emo phase and he does get him back at the end
- Dylan is g a y! Can't change! In season 2 he comes out to Max & Lucas, and he had already come out to Will in between the events of season 1 & 2, but he's afraid to tell Dustin. He does eventually, probably when they're all in the bus with Steve fighting the Demodogs
- Max & him are a brotp you don't fuck with! Also, in season one, he doesn't hate Eleven, and takes Mike's side, but does get jealous!
- Give him a family! I'd say a big one to explain why he feels the need to talk so much!
