Lily cheered the boys on while they played holographic air hockey, despite having no idea who was winning. She had been distracted by a conversation with M'gann and lost track to who had scored.

The cave's intercom announced the arrival of Superboy and Lily turned to greet him. She closed her mouth immediately when she saw the anger flowing off of him.

"Hi Superboy, how was Metropolis?" M'gann asked. She clearly didn't see or care about the angry mood he was in and remained as cheery as ever.

He didn't answer her and walked straight through the air hockey game, causing the hologram to disappear.

"Ready for training everyone?" Black Canary asked as she and Martian Manhunter walked in.

"Black Canary, Uncle J'onn!" M'gann ran over and hugged her uncle.

"M'gann, I was in the neighbourhood so I thought I'd see how you were adjusting."

"A few bumps, but I'm learning." Her cheerfulness hadn't dampened in the slightest, despite Superboy completely ignoring her earlier.

"That's all I can ask."

"Stick around," Black Canary spoke to Superboy who was about to leave. "Class is in session."

She walked to the middle of the room and the floor lit up below her. "I consider it an honour to be your teacher. I'll throw a lot at you, everything I've learned from my own mentors, and my own bruises." She winced slightly as she took off her jacket to reveal her arm bandaged up.

"What happened?" M'gann asked her.

"The job. Now, combat is about controlling conflict, putting the battle onto your terms. You should always be acting, never reacting."

Black Canary's speech was good, and it made Shadow consider how long she had practiced that before coming, cause there's no way she just came up with that on the spot.

"I'll need a sparring partner." Lily stepped back at her words. She had trained with Canary before and she wasn't going to get her ass kicked in front of everyone first.

"Right here!" Luckily, Wally volunteered. "After this, I'll show you my moves."

Lily gagged at his words. Black Canary didn't react to his comment, instead, she sent a fist flying towards him. He blocked it in time, but she saw it coming and ducked down and kicked his legs from underneath him. The screen lit up with the words "Kid Flash: FAIL".

"Hurt so good," Wally groaned as Canary helped him back up.

"Good block, but did anyone see what he did wrong?"

"Ooh! He hit on a teacher and got served." Robin said. Lily laughed but quickly covered it up.

"He allowed me to dictate the terms of-"

"Please, with my powers the battles always on my terms. I'm a living weapon, and this is a waste of my time." Superboy interrupted him.

Wow, cocky much?

"Prove it," Canary smirked. Shadow knew that Superboy would come to regret his words in a few moments.

Superboy threw a punch at her but she dodged it and grabbed his arm, flipping him over onto the ground.

Shadow pressed her lips together so her amusement wouldn't be obvious. Robin didn't have the same thought she did and laughed out loud. She gently hit his side with her elbow so he'd shut up.

"You're angry, good, but don't react. Channel that anger into-" Superboy ran at her, cutting her advice off. She jumped over him with ease and kicked his legs out from underneath him. He stood up.
