Dusty's POV

I haven't even been able to look at James since the party.When the bell rings I head to math the class I have to share with James. I'm sitting doodling in my notebook when Mr.Frost says

"Alright class we have a new student his name is Noah. Now be nice and welcoming to him. Noah you can sit by Dusty. Dusty raise your hand" I raise it and he walks over and sits by me. I can feel the stare from James on Noah.

"Hi"

"Hi I'm Noah"

"Dusty"

He's not that bad looking he has black hair, grey eyes, he has nice muscles, and a tattoo on his right bicep. At the end of class he asks me

 "What do you have next?"

"English"

 "Me too" he says

So we walk together to English where we meet Jason and Luke.

"Jason, Luke this is Noah he's new here we all almost have the same schedules. Noah this is Jason and Luke my best straight male friends" The teacher said

 "Hurry up and get inside" and Luke being the idiot mumbled 

"That's what she said"

He got a scowl and we all sat down.After school I told the guys and Kota that we were all hanging out at my place. They agreed so we piled in my car and I drove home. When we got inside my mom said

"Hey Dusty how was school?" 

"It was good we made a new friend and actually he's here now." she comes out and says

"My my you are..." and get's cut off when my dad walks in and says

"Excuse me that sentence better end in something g"

"Sorry hun I'll always love you but God gave me eyes for a reason." My dad growls and Luke, Jason, and Kota just smirk as they know whats about to happen and Noah looks like he's about to shit himself.

So story time three years ago we had a friend named Jamal. He was nice to his girlfriend when he was with us but when we went over to his house to hang out we saw him hitting his girlfriend. My dad was furious and said he would make sure I never had a friend like him again so he does this thing where he pretends he's going to hit my mom and of course she's in on it too. Then they judge them based partially on their reaction.

Back to current time.

"Huh what's that supposed to mean?"

"Hey nothing say I can't look"

My dad cocks back his hand and starts to bring it down when Noah grabs his arm and twists it. My dad starts chuckling and picking Noah up as he's holding his arm turns to me and says

"I approve."

I smile and shake my head then Noah says

"What the hell just happened?"

"It's a test to see if you are worthy of hanging out with my son. you passed now go hang out I have to make more food since I wasn't expecting all of you over."

I nod then start heading to my room which is the attic transformed. We set our stuff down and play 21 questions to get to know each other better well Noah better but anyways not 45 minutes later my mom calls us down for dinner. We eat and make small talk then head upstairs and watch The Divergent series.

James POV

February 10,

I hate my life. I have to pretend at home I'm your average straight guy. Mike has been freaking out because his boyfriend who is in Kabul,Afghanistan which is right in the middle of Iran and Pakistan and their teams base was attacked two days ago and communications are down and no one is allowed to leave the base. Dusty won't talk to me and I hate myself for it everyday. Matt has become an even bigger asshole. I need to have a sit down with him and talk about it. The twins are in freaking Thailand for there parents anniversary so I'm all alone. Shoot me. Now there's this Jackass what's his name? I don't know but I like Jackass so. Yeah this jackass has been hanging around and flirting with Dusty and poor Dusty doesn't even know it or he's just okay with it I don't but help me.

James

I was walking into Mr.Frosts class when I saw Dusty and the jackass sitting next to each other. When I sat down I heard Jackass say

"Hey can we talk after class?"

"Yeah sure"

Then Mr.Frost started speaking. After class I headed to my next one not even wanting to think what jackass was going to ask Dusty. And by the end of the day I found out anyways:

Jackass asked Dusty out on a date and Dusty accepted.

My heart sunk. I found Matt and said "Bro we need to talk meet me in the castle at 6:30" he nodded his head and I drove home. I changed into some joggers and a muscle-t. I lounged around till 6:15 then headed to the "Castle" which was really just an old abandoned tree house we found when we were kids. When I climbed in he was already there. I sat down and then said

"Matt what's up? You have been even more and asshole than usual?"

He didn't say anything so I cautiously said  "Is it your dad?"  he just looked down and nodded than said "Let's go get some ice cream" I shrugged and said okay but when we got down he took off running in the direction of his house. I was going to follow but knowing Matt there was a good reason. He was just too scared after everything he's been through with his dad.
