The Lady In My Life - Chapter 5

At the bookstore

Michael looked up when he bumped into someone.
He immediately turned around, being a little in shock because it happened all of the sudden.

And then he saw her:
He looked straight into the most beautiful eyes on the planet.
It was Brandy.

Brandy smiled when she saw it was Michael and gave him a hug.
"Michael.. I'm so glad we meet again.", she said, while her eyes were shining.

"Brandy.. I'm so sorry I bumped into you like that; I didn't see you.", he apologized, but Brandy thought it was okay and she shook her head while she led go of him. "It really doesn't matter, it's alright."

Michael smiled, while looking at the girl who gave him his first kiss.
She was the reason he didn't sleep last night. He was crazy about her, and at first he thought he would never see her again, but yet here they were.

"Do you come here often?", Michael asked her, since this was one of his favorite bookstores.
"I come here all the time, it's my favorite bookstore.", Brandy answered.
It was like Brandy took the words right out of his mouth.
"Really? It's one of my favorite bookstores as well.", he said. Michael got really excited, because apparently they shared the same interests.

Brandy smiled, revealing her white teeth. "What a coincidence.", she said.
"About last night by the way.."

Michael looked up at Brandy while he froze a little bit. What did she wanted to say about last night? Was it something negative?
He just didn't wanted to lose her.

"I really enjoyed it. With you, you know.", she finally said.
Michael sighed, being relieved.
"I loved it, actually. I'm really glad that I got the chance to meet you, Brandy.", Michael said.
Brandy blushed and covered up her pink cheeks with her hands.
Michael thought it was the most adorable thing ever and giggled.

"So.. when are you gonna ask me out..?", Brandy almost mumbled.
Michael bit his lip, being embarrassed.
"Ask you out?", he repeated, not knowing what she meant.
"Like ask me out on a date.", Brandy explained.
Michael blushed and nodded. He got very shy all of the sudden.
"Brandy.. Would you like to go on a date with me?", he asked, pushing his embarrassment aside.

Brandy nodded out of excitement. "I'd love to, Michael."

The next evening

The time finally came; Michael went on a date with Brandy tonight.
He was excited and also very nervous.

Of course Michael picked out a nice outfit.
He had black trousers on, a nice blouse that had little stripes printed on them and some loafers.
He sprayed some of his favorite cologne on, that he only used for special occasions.
Michael was ready for his date.

He arranged a car because he promised Brandy that he would pick her up.
There was one problem; Michael didn't had his driving license.
He just had to impress Brandy, and he thought this was the right way to do it.
Nothing would happen, right?

Michael finally left the house.
He got in the car he lend from a friend and started the engine.
He looked around in the car. He had no idea how everything worked.
Michael frowned and pushed the pedal with his right feet.
The car shook and flew a few meters forward.

Michael was frightened of the car; he just wanted to walk, but he already promised Brandy.

After 30 minutes he finally found out how he had to control the car.
He drove to Brandy's house, while he sang to the songs on the radio.

Arrived at Brandy's house

Michael parked in front of Brandy's house and stopped the car. He picked up the keys and got out of the car.
Quickly he stroked his blouse flat, and then he walked up to the front door.
He pressed the doorbell and waited.

Brandy opened the door and smiled at Michael.
She looked wonderful.
She had this dark green dress on, knee length, which complimented her beautiful curves.
Her hair looked extremely soft and her lips were colored red.

"You look gorgeous.", Michael said, completely in awe.
"Thank you Michael.", she said, while blushing. "Let's go, shall we?"
Michael nodded and held out his arm for her to hold it.
Brandy closed the door behind her and got a hold of his arm.
He walked her to the car and pulled the car door open near the passenger seat.
Brandy let go of his arm and sat down in the car.

Michael closed the door and walked to the other side of the car.
He got in the car and looked at Brandy, being a little nervous.
"So do you have your driving license?", Brandy asked.
Michael searched for words.
"Um... Not yet.."
He couldn't lie to her.
"Michael!", Brandy said, while she looked at him with big eyes.
"I'm sorry.. I just.. I wanted to impress you. I wouldn't let you walk the whole way.", Michael said.

Brandy blushed and looked away. "It's alright.. just be careful, okay?"
Michael nodded. "I will be."
He would never get her into a dangerous situation.

Michael started the engine and drove away. They would go to the movies together, and Michael picked out a romantic but humorous film.

He stopped in front of the stop sign and looked through the traffic.
Brandy thought the way Michael drove a car was adorable.
Michael looked next to him and put his eyes on Brandy. He revealed his teeth by smiling.
"You are so beautiful.", he whispered, almost unintelligible.
"Pardon?", Brandy asked.
Michael looked into her eyes and caressed her cheek with his finger.

Suddenly he heard a loud honk coming their way, including some crashing sounds.
A car crashed into the back of theirs.
