Marigold Lupin wasn't the type of girl who wallowed over the little things in life - hell, she was definitely more focused on the big picture.

But the little things slowly begin to creep up on you, don't they?

Marigold never knew her parents, something that even if she didn't admit it, affected her greatly. She also had to deal with the fact that she didn't hold very many personal similarities to her parents. No resemblance at all.

She wasn't like her twin - she didn't get her mother's ability to change hair colours or her father's werewolf like cravings around the full moon. She got her mother's clumsiness, though it could be argued that it had been all her own after all.

So the news that her brother was getting married hit her. Hard.

"Mari..." she had heard her brother call out to her after he and Victoire broke the news to the family, "I... I know how you felt about this... about us."

Marigold had simply nodded back, a solemn expression on her face. He knew she didn't want them to get married. She had told the boy thousands of times.

"We'll be taking a trip to New Orleans after the wedding!" Victoire smiled hesitantly, an expression of enthusiasm lacing her words, staring at Marigold with worried eyes "if... if you want you can all come with us!"

Teddy looked at her as if she had grown two heads. This plan was definitely not discussed beforehand.

Marigold, catching her brother's expression, couldn't help but let a coy smirk spread across her face. Oh, this day just keeps getting better and better.

"Actually Vic," Marigold spoke with a teasing tone, purposefully eyeing her brother as she spoke, "that sounds absolutely lovely! A break away from the house sounds wonderful!"

She could hear her brother's angered mumbles as the other kids began chattering in excitement about the trip, her lazy smirk slowly turning into a wide smile.

'God...' Marigold couldn't help but think as she watched her brother scoot around trying to calm everyone down, 'I'm so going to make this trip absolutely miserable for him."
