Then | Summer 2017
July 2, 11:12 P.M.
I didn't love Adam anymore.
But I stayed by his side the whole night anyway, to avoid anything coming up between him and Austin.
I wanted to be more than just a chick who broke apart two best friends.
So I just drank away the uncomfortable situation.
I wished Caleb was there, with me, instead of his Summer Football Camp.
He knew how to handle the drunk me, unlike everyone present there.
He'd have known when to take me home.
He'd have known not to let me play that game of spin the bottle.
He'd have stopped me from daring Liz to make that fake account and text any random nerd.
He'd have stopped me from choosing Daniel as the victim.
He would have.
He should have.
But he wasn't there.
What a night that was.
