**Embrys's pov.**

I was expecting yelling, I was expecting my dad to be utterly disgusted by Ace's confession.
But instead, my dad remained silent while my mom cried with much happiness and Ember sat there staring at Ace like he had lost his mind.
I on the other hand, was embarrassed.
Not because Ace proudly admitted he was in love with me.
But because it was a lot to take in.
I felt wanted, cherished and loved.
Don't get me wrong, my family treated me exactly the same way.
But this was Ace.
The billionaire.

The guy everyone wanted to be, or be seen with.
And here we were.
Here I was, doing the impossible.
Why was I so special?
Why did he love me?
What did I do, for him to fall for me?
So many thoughts and questions swarmed my mind as I sat at the table.
My stew staring at me, as I refused to move an inch.

Sure, my mom had to excuse herself.
But I had a hunch, my dad was overthinking everything.
The man, who was nearly eight years older than me.
Just told him, he was in love with his seventeen year old son.
No parent is going to be one hundred percent okay with that.
And I knew my dad was battling his thoughts.
On what he needed to say, and what he shouldn't say.

Ember looked at me across from the table.
"Do you love Ace, Embry?" She asked me.
Fixing to speak, I was cut off by Ace who frowned at her question.
"He doesn't need to say anything until he's ready. I was ready to get that off my chest, because it was true. Embry has all of the time in the world, to tell me. Not when he's questioned if he does." He told her.
I looked at him slightly shocked, then to my sister who's cheeks turned pink.
"No of course, you're right. Let me rephrase my question then," she looked at me with furrowed brows.
"How do you feel about Ace now that he's announced his love for you? Are you uncomfortable?" She questioned me.

I sat there, my hand falling on Ace's as I looked at her.
"I'm overwhelmed, but its a good feeling. I have strong feelings for Ace, so there's no way I'd feel uncomfortable knowing he's in love with me." I answered.
Ember frowned at my answer, but nodded anyway as if not wanting to keep up the subject.
Not that I blamed her.
The air had gotten more tense now.
I looked down at my lap, clearing my throat I looked to my dad.
"I'm going to check on mom." I told him.
Not saying a word to me, he stared off into space.
But I took his silence as an acknowledgement.

I walked outside onto the balcony where my mom had been standing, dabbing her eyes with a tissue as she stared up at the stars and the clouds that went by the bright moon.
She had changed into a dark blue night gown as her long brown hair rested at the center of her back, there was gray mixed in which was now more noticeable with her hair down.
It was usually up.
I brought my knuckles to the glass, gently tapping on it to gain her attention.

She turned to me with a much more tired expression now.
Her blue eyes were still puffy but she managed a smile.
Which I returned, even if my heart was aching.
I loved my mom, more than I loved my dad.
I know that's horrible of me.
But my dad hasn't really always been there, until recently.
It's always been my mom that's been there, taking care of her two children.
While her husband went out and did who know's what?
It pissed me off, I hated the phone calls she would receive late at night.
With her husband telling her, he was coming home later than expected.
I wanted to assume it was an affair, but I was never really certain.
Part of me wanted to say it was, the other half said it was something else.
In the end, I was never really sure what it was.
But it never excused his actions, or his personality switch time and time again.
