Chapter 26: Fading Tears

Rin's P.O.V

"Moom..myy...." she cried.

Akira and I exchanged unsure looks and went up to her.

"Um..are you okay?" asked Akira nervously.

The little girl looked up to her. She looked about 9 years old and there was pure emptiness in her eyes.

"I..want my moommyy.." tears formed in her eyes.

What's a little girl like this doing here? And lost?

"How did you get here?" I inquired.

"I-I don't ...um..I was playing outside..a-and.. th-this strange guy came to me and-and he.. stabbed me."

My eyes widened, "He stabbed you?"

She nodded and stood up. I saw the blood wound in her stomach.

"How are you not dead?!" I pointed to the wound.

"I don't..know. I just want my mommy! It hurts! My stomach..hu-hu.." she coughed up blood.

Akira and I backed up and my face grew pale.

"Wh-Wh.." I stuttered not being able to finish my sentence in shock.

She looked at me, covered her face, sobbed, and dropped to the floor, "I'm gonna die..I'm gonna die.."

I reached out to grab her hand, "You won't die. We're taking us with you."

Her hand slowly came up and was about to meet mine. But, her hand went through mine like it wasn't there. She gasped.

Akira backed away, "Gh-Ghost!"

This is  suspicious. A little girl is here, she got stabbed, the wound is there, she's bleeding a lot but not feeling dizzy or passing out, and her hand went through mine like a ghost. Is she...

"Is that.."

Akira looked at me, "Huh?"

"A mythical soul? One of the souls that control one of the bodies under Never Ending Trance?"

Akira squinted and looked at the little girl, "I don't know..Never seen them in real."

"Haven't you done research on them before, though?"

"I have, I have.. it's just that.. I'm not quite sure. It can be anything, you know. An illusionary ghost, a mythical soul. You just never know."

I rolled my eyes, "Seriously, just think about it."

She rubbed her chin with her index finger and thumb.

I raised a brow, "Who are you trying to be?"

"Shut up and let me think."

"Okay then." I muttered.

"I got it!"

"Hmm? What is it?"

"I forgot," she pouted.

I face-palmed.

"Kidding! She's a mythical soul," she exclaimed.

The little girl looked up at us, "Where's my mommy?" she asked.

"We'll find your mommy.." I mumbled.

"O-Okay.."

I was about to grab her hand again but I knew what was gonna happen.

"Um..could you get up?"

She got up and looked at me.

I sighed and looked at Akira.

"Errr, Akise obviously isn't here.." she looked at another open path.

"Lets go." I gestured to it and we left.

We were deep into the pathway.

Suddenly, the little girl stopped and fell to the floor.

"Ih..Ih..It h-hurts.."

I looked at Akira, "What do we do?"

"Um..we really can't do anything..but..I can make the pain go away."

"You should've told me sooner!"

"I haven't perfected the spell yet!" she pouted.

"Just cast it." I implored.

She hesitated, but cast the spell on the little girl.

She yelped in pain but her wound slowly started to heal.

"I can see you haven't perfected it yet."

" ...I just said that!"

END OF CHAPTER

+ This is kind of a filler chapter, I don't want them to find Akise RIGHT AWAY. That would be too easy , dontcha think?

Anyway, stay tuned. Sorry about the late updates. I have a new book out called Decided Fate and I worked really hard on it so please read it ^-^
