"I'm assuming your brother didn't tell you the reason behind his visit?" Bash asks as we walk into his office that's located on the first floor of the house.

"And you'd be correct. He mentioned needing to talk to you about something complicated and involving a third party, but that's about it. It can't be a rogue issue from your end and I know we've had some trouble with them in the past so my guess is that we need your assistance." I take a seat across from him and he opens up a large folder.

"Close actually. We don't have any issues currently but I do have a bit of a problem with the Mountain pack which is your neighboring pack to the West. Your brother wants help from the Mountain pack with the rogue issues, but also knows how much his Allies, rather my pack, don't like Alpha Stephenson." He slides the folder across the table to me and I look down at the paperwork.

"And what exactly are these?" I ask as my eyes search lines drawn around the map.

"That is Alpha Stephenson's land. He's got one of the smallest packs in North America and he's covering this much land. He's not willing to place his men on the far borders and he poses a threat to my pack because when they're isn't anyone watching borders rogues slip through and travel north to my territory." He explains through gritted teeth and I know that the Mountain Pack is not his cup of tea.

"Your brother wants to try and get him to help but I think it's useless. I rather him not be in debt to such a scumbag."

"Well what's your solution if he doesn't reach out to Stephenson? It's not like he has a choice. He needs help with the rogue problem and Stephenson's pack is closest to his." I ask while leaning back in the chair and trying not to get aggravated.

I might not enjoy pack business but it's become my life recently. I am not about to watch my family and soon to be old pack start to weaken or get killed because Sebastian doesn't want my brother asking for help.

Stupid boys and their pride.

"Well, my beautiful intelligent mate, that's why I'm sitting here with you. I'm willing to make a deal with your brother."

"And what exactly does that deal entail?" I cross my legs before leaning forward and staring directly at him. "Because you know me well enough to know I don't like a lot of things."

"I'm willing to send some of my men to help your brother keep the rogues away."

I'm no genius when it comes to making deals, but I'm not stupid. That sounds a bit too good to be true if you ask me.

"And what do you get from doing that?"

"I'm helping a friend of mine and in the process I will be keeping Stephenson away. The more cut off he is, the easier it will be to get rid of him and his pack. I get what I want, and I help a friend in the process. Not to mention I'd have an angry Jenifer on my hands if I didn't help your family and that's about the last thing I want."

He's right. I'd be pretty furious if anything happened to Trevor or Kelly. My parents? Well of course, I don't want them to die either, but I really don't want my brother and sister in law dead.

"I understand. Now I would like to go back to bed or at least take a nap."

"I promised your brother I would have you call him. He wanted to hear from you to make sure you were okay, so please just talk to him." He gives me a pleading look before motioning for me to join him on his side of the desk. I walk over and he tries to pull me into his lap but I pull back and take a seat on the edge of his desk.

"'Not so fast lover boy."

"Until he calls I figured we could have a little chat about everything." He pushes his chair out and stands in between my legs.
