"Hud, can you pull the car over for a second?" Sebastian speaks up in the silence of our ride home. After packing up my things I was quick to say my goodbyes to Kelly and Trevor before bolting back to the truck. I kept quiet once we started driving as well. For an experience that should've been smooth sailing, it hurt me more than I care to admit.

I wanted my parents to look happy for me. I wanted them to act upset that their last child was leaving the nest. Instead they praised Sebastian for dealing with me. I guess I should've known to keep my expectations low.

Lesson learned.

I've sat during this long drive with headphones in and my gaze directed out the window as I contemplated what exactly I'm doing with my life in terms of my relationships with people. Cause apparently I manage to fail in that department time and time again.

"Yeah man." Hudson pulls the car over on the side of the highway and I watch cautiously as Bash gets out of the passengers seat and opens my door.

He finally trusted Logan and I to sit together.

"C'mon." He motions for me to get out of the car and usually I would cross my arms over my chest and give him a sassy glare, but today?

I just did as he asked and let him shut the door behind me.

"What's going on?" He asks and I shake my head while shrugging.

"It's nothing Bash, I just can't deal with my parents anymore. I need to stop expecting better from them. I'll be fine. I got upset with how they acted."

"They were wrong in how they acted and nothing can change that, but don't let it eat at you."

"They aired out my dirty laundry of how I slept with some Gamma of another pack to not just you but also Logan and Hudson. Then they praised you and how you must be the perfect guy because most people would've rejected someone like me," I remind him while motioning back down the road we came from.

"Jen, of course I don't like hearing that it was another wolf. Of course that pisses me off but I'm no saint either."

"Yeah but what guy wants his mate to be a brat who will go silent in protest of other people's actions? What guy wants a mate who spends most of her time complaining or being a bitch? Apparently you do and because of that you're too good. You're too good for me which leads us back to the point where I'm upset and don't want to explain myself any further."

"They were wrong." He grabs at my face forcing me to look him in his eyes. "They had no place to talk about you like that and I disagree with them. You're worth it because you were the one the moon goddess gave me. You aren't a bitch and you don't complain. You've been dealing with Logan and that's enough to drive anyone crazy. It's me Jenifer, I can't have some 'do as your told' Luna. You and I work because you have a don't just sit back and agree."

"Can you please stop beating yourself up about this? It's hard to watch especially because I'm used to seeing you at least try to poke fun at Logan."

It's true, part of me does want to bother the brunette boy because sarcasm cheers me up. Not that I'd like to admit it, but it feels nice having someone like Logan in my life. It's like finally having friends again.

"I think it's just a combination of everything. Plus the full moon thing is looming over and stressing me out."

The full moon is gonna be a bitch.

"It's gonna be fine." He assures me, but I can tell he's slightly worried even under the comforting smile. "Plus we're almost home and then you can go to bed."
