JACOB'S POV

"I saw her for the 1st time in three years "

I hated this feeling. Sadness. It always kills me. I even hated the fact that I sounded so weak in front Natalie. Wasn't I supposed to her boss? Yeah, but still I told her one of my biggest secrets in my life. I always trusted her but I'm not sure if she trusts me because she probably hates me because I called her brother's girlfriend a.k.a my sister a bitch.

I was expecting her to still be angry at me, since she has a legendary temper, but she didn't. She stayed calm and listened to my problem and my guilts quietly. Whatever I felt for her just increased.

We both stood there in an awkward silence not speaking to each other. Her presence was really reassuring and probably the reason why I didn't break down again.

After 15 minutes, she moved to leave.

"Umm... Natalie?" I asked. She turned and looked at me.

"Can you not tell umm...about, your know whatever happened here?" Gosh! This was the embarrassing.

She smiled and her eyes promised me that this thing was only between us. Our little secret.

She left and I stood there all alone, thinking only about one thing or person, to be specific. Natalie.

My mind wandered back to the almost- kiss. I wish May hadn't interrupted us. I really wanted her lips on mine. Only we both kissing and having fun.

But that seemed like a dream. It seemed surreal. She was an amazing woman, and I don't think I deserve a beautiful and strong woman like her.

I stood there immersed in my thoughts when I realized where I was. I was in May's engagement reception. I had come here with Natalie as my date.

Shit!

I walked back to the reception fast. I was over with my mental breakdown.

I went to where everyone was standing. Everyone was there except for Natalie. May, June, Ethan and James.

Where is Natalie?

I went there and stood next to May, in front of June.

"Hey guys, how is it going?" I asked, casually. The expression on their faces were priceless. Well, you see, I am not much of a conversation starter so yeah.

"Umm...nothing? " Ethan said. I knew he didn't like me but now he probably hates me because I called his gf a bitch.

"OMG is that June? June!!!! " I said and gave her a big hug as if I never had a breakdown or anything of that sort.

At first June was frozen, she didn't move. Then later she gave and put her arms around her literally crushing my ribs.

May was literally crying.

"Guys, where is Natalie? " I asked.

"I don't know, I thought she was with you" Ethan said his voice laced with worry.

"I'll go find her. Don't worry" I said and went off to find her.

I saw her standing there talking to a man.

Well maybe they are just family friends. Just when I thought that, the guy puts his hand on her waist and pulls her closer to him and kisses her.

What the fucking hell???!!

Anger was coursing through my veins and I was experiencing something I never had.

Jealousy.
