Alkira's pov -

Finally some good news.

"Let's get going guys I have plans to tell and a former alpha and mate to rescue," I said brimming with positive energy that was lacking before their arrival.

My mind was swirling with all the plans that I could think of as we made our way to the meeting hall.

The hall was silent like a graveyard at midnight, filled with tension and a bit of fear of the unknown. Nobody knows what was going to happen once I arrive.

They were prepared for the worst. I cleared my throat loudly and spoke with as much conviction and determination. Right now they needed a firm and clear-headed Alpha, not some crazed female whose mate was captured.

"I know that right now we are facing some tough situation but no need to panic as I have a plan."

As I reached my chair I didn't sit instead I took hold of the back of the chair and continued.

"We will split into groups of three. A larger group of our warriors led by me will head towards Zen's pack. A smaller group of ten commanded by Xavier will head to the west of their territory into the woods. There is a cave near Moon Mountain guarded by a warrior of his pack. In it you will find Alpha Samuel and Keith, after you have safely admitted them in the hospital join me in the battle. And lastly, a group of our female warriors will stay here and guard the pack."

"It is a sound plan but what about the traitor?" Ana asked fuming at the thought of a betrayer roaming the pack grounds thinking of creating more havoc.

"About that..." my voice held amusement as I nodded to Damien. He got up and was back within minutes holding half dead, beaten to the pulp body of our traitor.

"Here is your traitor Ana."

I looked around and noticed that only some faces held surprise but quickly they too matched the fury that was there on the faces of the rest of the members.

"Jack I never thought you will betray our pack like that. What did you get out of it? Not only had you degraded your pack but your family too. What will your son think about it? Your mate? What was the need?" Helen cried out vehemently.

He was in no position to answer her question so Daimen did the honor.

"He wanted to take revenge on this pack, wanted to make us pay because we didn't choose him as our Alpha. He wanted Kira to suffer for taking the position that was supposed to be his." He hissed at him giving one more swift kick to his backside.

A tear left her eye but she quickly wiped it away with the back of her hand.

"He doesn't deserve any sympathy neither by me nor by the pack." She spat at his merely conscious form.

Making eye contact with everyone present here I continued in a firm tone leaving no arguments.

"This matter is closed for now. He betrayed our pack and took advantage of our trusting nature so it is only fair if the pack was to decide his punishment."

After hearing their approval I continued.

"Daimen take him back to the prison we will deal with him after this situation is cleared."

"If there is anything you want to ask, now is the time, I want this problem to be tackled without a hitch. So-"

I was rudely interrupted by the abrupt opening of the door.

"Alpha we have spotted a large group of warriors at the border of our pack. Their scent is not familiar to us and they seem to wait for someone's order as they haven't moved an inch from their place for the past half an hour." It was Zack who rushed in followed by Ben.

"Alpha one person from that group is coming inside our territory." Ben continued as Zack stared at me waiting for my reaction. I scowled at them showing my displeasure for the delayed information.

Without wasting another moment I turned and delivered my last message.

"Xavier! Make sure that everyone is ready. We will depart before dawn. Everyone will be at their best. I want this plan to unfold successfully without any interruption."

"Yes, Alpha!"

Their United response was enough to make me believe that indeed it will be a battle to die for.

"Dom you are coming with me. Let's see if you still got it or..." I smirked and left with Zack and Ben trailing after me.

Soon I was joined by Dominic as we walked to the ground.

My warriors were standing there alert waiting to snap the neck of an intruder if I say so. I smiled inwardly keeping my face blank. I was pleased with their show of a united front.

Zack and Ben joined them while Dom and I continued to walk at a steady pace.

Our intruder was in wolf form walking leisurely toward us. His relaxed gait made one thing clear to me.

Either he is strong enough and confident of his pack or foolish enough not to understand the gravity of the situation.

He was on another Alpha's territory without permission. His actions can have many repercussions.

Gust of wind brought a familiar scent. I looked at Dom and noticed that I wasn't the only one feeling the familiar aura. His scrunched-up features were a telltale sign of whenever he was in deep... thinking hard to find clues for whatever he was suffering from.

The wolf stopped a few feet away from us and morphed back. Finally, we were able to place a name on the intruder.

But he was no intruder at all.

He was our Uncle Max. I was astonished to see him. I had few fond memories of him. He was my favorite uncle. My father's eldest brother is the rightful Alpha of our pack.

But he didn't want that and passed the title to his younger brothers. It was a fair fight and despite being younger my father beat Uncle Richard and won the Alpha title. Fair and square.

Dad never let anyone say bad things about Uncle Max for making his own decisions and owning up to them. He was always welcomed with open arms. Pack too was happy under my father's rule so no problem arose to question my father's ability to guide them not even once.

He was to come for my marking ceremony and I thought that he too died along the pack when I couldn't find a clue of him. But apparently, I am wrong again.

I feel happy to be wrong. One more member of my family is alive. I am ecstatic.

I jumped into his arms and held him tight for what felt like an eternity. Gradually he loosens my hold and wiped away my tears. Kissing my forehead he said in a soft voice.

"I am alive and so does he."

I peered over his shoulder to see whom he was talking about.

Colour drained my face when I saw him.

"SEAN."
