The best of friends, sisters
from different misters if
you will. Separately, we're
just weird and bland, but
together we've got skills.
But it's different now. It's
like everything has changed
even though everything is
still exactly the same somehow.
You turn left and I turn right.
It's like we're inwardly
screaming at each other, yet
we haven't had a single fight.
Let's face the facts, we were
too good to be true. No
friendship lasts forever, so
we separate ourselves in
different cocoons.
I miss you, I miss us, the
way it used to be. I wish I
made more of an effort to
see you, please let me turn
back time so you and I can
be free.
The awkwardness hangs in
the atmosphere as we avoid
any eye contact. But we have
to try to get back together, it
says so right here on the
contract.
Our eyes met for a split second
and you were the first to
look away. I feel a pang
against my heart as you
turn your back on me,
why won't you stay?
I watch you as you look
down, guilt evident in those much more beautiful brown eyes. And I can tell I'll be
flying it solo again, surprise surprise.
From above I thought you
were sent. But as we both
glance away from one
another, I hold back the
years as I realize the sad
lonely truth...
I am losing my best friend...
