She couldn't hate him.

She loved him too much.

Hyein wasn't to pry into his past life. It made her disappointed that he never told her. But she reasoned with it. The man in front of her loved her from a high view. He was a respected man to her and he knew that.

He didn't want to break her image of him.

What would she have done if she had found out how flawed he was from day one?

Would she have fallen for him?

In silence, she calmed him down and all they did was look at each other. Their sparkling eyes not dying out from their white flame. A knock sounded the room and they snapped away from the almost perfect atmosphere.

"Aw fuck," the intruder ruffled his black hair as he peeked his head through the door opening, "Sorry, Mingyu. Bad timing." Mingyu sniffled a little and looked to the side, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

The man patted his suit down and extended his hand towards Hyein. She couldn't help but realize that he had scars over his hand as she reached over and shook it, "I'm Detective Choi. I'm the detective in charge of this case. I would like to make an appointment with you for an interview, will that be okay?"

Hyein breathed in slowly as the door opened again and a different nurse walked in, "Mingyu-ssi. The doctor is looking for you."

She turned to Hyein and smiled, "Honey, are you feeling alright?" Hyein nodded as she looked back at the detective. Mingyu shuffled out of the room just as Hyein agreed to the interview.

Mingyu sighed as he held his shoulder as he walked to the elevator. He took the elevator down to see the doctor but bumped into a little kid on the way to the office. The child swung his hands around with a small message. He frowned as he knew that was sign language.

A nurse quickly took the kid away. Mingyu sighed as he whispered to himself, "I should learn a little sign language for Hyein. She did say she knew the basics."

He entered the office, mind full of thoughts about her. All through the whole check up, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He also didn't know what to say to her the next time he'd see her but Mingyu was missing Hyein so much his heart ached more than the wound on his shoulder.

When he returned to her room, she was with the company of his three friends from the police station. From the crack of the door, he watched Hyein smile ear to ear.

And she laughed out loud. He never heard her voice like that. It was fresh and even if the laugh wasn't for him, he felt warmth spread throughout his body.

Hansol reached over and supported her back as she cringed in pain after the laughter. Mingyu couldn't help but smile and she grinned again with joy. He was being overwhelmed with happiness as she, too, was feeling euphoric.

Hyein felt loved. And Mingyu was so in love.
