CHAPTER FOUR
WHEN she arrived on her condo unit, she was surprised to see Joyce and Kira who was waiting for her inside, judgment on their eyes.
"You slept in the mansion?" Joyce asked, crossing her arms above her chest, while sitting on the sofa.
"Alone? While raining so bad last night?" It was Kira who's sitting on the leather single sofa.
Pinaikot niya ang mata at inilapag ang Hermes handbag sa gitnang lamesa. Umaga na nang tumili ang ulan at tanghali na nang makarating siya sa Taguig.
It's very fortunate that Brooke is also living in Bonifacio Global City. They should've seen each other before since they're living in the same place, why they didn't? Bakit kahapon lang?
"I was with someone." She lazily sat on the other single sofa.
"Were you with your father's secretary?"
Joyce and Kira were her friends for years now, aside from Karen who's already married to an Altaraza, kaya wala na sila masyadong oras para magchikahan. At ang dalawang ito ang nanatiling nasa tabi niya lalo nitong mga nakalipas na buwan na nangangailangan talaga siya. For her, the two has the right to know what's happening on her life, since there's a man who's involved.
"I will get married, soon." She said calmly and saw the shock on her friend's face.
"Magpapakasal? Kanino? Wala ka ngang boyfriend!" Joyce reacted confusedly.
"Nawala ka lang nang isang gabi tapos magpapakasal ka na kaagad? Who was with you last night? Sigurado, lalaki 'yan!" Paratang sa kanya ni Kira. "May nangyari sa inyo? Nakuha na ang virginity mo? Kaya papakasalan ka?"
Napasandal siya sa inuupuan. Humugot ng hangin sa dibdib, iniisip kung paano uumpisahan ang pagpapaliwanag sa dalawa na ngayon ay titig na titig sa kanya.
"I was with a man last night," she muttered, making the two gasped a bit then keep their mouth shut again. "He's the one who will buy the mansion."
"Then? Bakit may biglang kasalan?" Kira inquired.
"Because I don't want to sell the mansion and I told him that. He decided not to buy the mansion. I panicked. Until he made a condition before he will buy the mansion."
"Ang gulo niyong dalawa." Reklamo ni Joyce. "So, the condition is you will marry him then he will buy the mansion?"
"Yes,"
"Eh, di go! Kung ikakasal kayo, may karapatan ka pa rin sa mansyon dahil mag-asawa kayo."
"I though about that, too. But our marriage life would last for six months only. It's a deal between us. I will marry him and he will give me money in exchange."
"And because you're in need, kaya pumayag kang magpakasal sa estranghero dahil sa pera?" Kira pointed out.
"Yes, and we have rules. So, you girls don't need to worry. I know what I'm doing."
Sabay pa napabuntong hininga ang dalawa. Nagkatinginan bago ibinalik ang atensyon sa kanya.
"Who's the man?" Joyce asked, her brow arched.
Ngumuso siya nang maalala ang gwapong mukha ni Brooke at ang mga payakap-yakap sa kanya.
"Oh gosh! Why do you need to blush like that, Icah? Don't tell me nauna na ang honeymoon niyo kagabi?" It was Kira, pilit hinuhuli siya.
"Hindi na 'yan virgin. Napasukan na 'yan kagabi."
"Hindi, ha!" Totoo. "Hindi siya gano'n. Hindi sex ang habol niya. Kasal lang talaga ang gusto ni Brooke."
