he crosses his legs while waiting for the women to walk inside the house. he heard her car engine outside and knew that she went out and left xiyeon alone in their house.

this was not the first time that seolhyun would go out without telling lucas and left xiyeon alone.

he was never happy with seolhyun. maybe lucas had made vow with her to make her happy in any condition but seolhyun, leaving the responsability was not what he expected.

she wanted something more in this relationship,  ot just lucas and lucas knew it since the first day he dated seolhyun in high school.

"where the hell have you been?" lucas jolted up from the sofa as soon he heard the front door of his house opened. his eyes then went wide when he saw seolhyun came back home with a messy hair and drunk face.

"did you went to the club?!" he yelled but then lowered his voice when he realize that xiyeon is already asleep.

"you know~" she lazily say as her voice is already contaminated by alcohol and lucas can only shake his head in unbelievable.

seolhyun continue to walk up the stairs with jelly legs and unstable. she turns aroun before calling lucas in a slurred voice with her hand calling him.

"help me up to bed, please husband?" lucas cringe, but he approach seolhyun afterall. he helped her up and place her on their bed, with her night dress still on and make up, lucas couldn't careless and went out from their bedroom.

he never wanted to sleep there, he never wanted to be in the same bed with the woman that ruined the live of the woman he loved, baram.

lucas walk towards his office inside the house and locked the door on the way in.

there's no way he will have a serious conversation with seolhyun in her drunk state, tomorrow morning is not a good option either, she would wake up hungover and head spinning.

it won't be a good time for him and her to have a conversation, to be exact, talking about why she went out without telling lucas and left xiyeon alone.

he took a seat on his expensive chair before opening his laptop and click to where he had last opened it and let out a long sigh before cracking the bone in his hands.

"let's start the search party shall we?"

the next morning, lucas went to the office earlier than he used to be.

from home to the way is like a racing cirquit for him. he won't miss the chance of getting another information about baram.

all of the employee are surprised to see him walking down the hallway towards his office with a fast pace and slam the door shut, making all the employee jump on their seat.

it's still too early for him to come to the office.

but lucas didn't careless, all he care right now is jeno and taeyong who's waiting for him inside his office.

"spill."

with just one word, jeno took out a brown envelope and opened it with a few papers inside.

"i have already told my man in the west, give them every detail of baram--"

"lucas, are you serious?" taeyong butted in, cutting jeno's words and caught the two other male attention, "it's been five fucking years and you still looking for her?"

"i still have to find her taeyong," lucas replied, placing both of his hands on his waist, "i still need to see her."

taeyong shook his head, "there's no use yuk-hei, she's probably forget about your existannce!"

"shut up lee taeyong!" lucas yelled, "what did you know about her? and who are you to tell me that?!"

"i'm telling you here as a friend, not as a co-worker okay? looking for her around the world is no use, the fact that she hates you will never change even if you found her!"

lucas went silent. taeyong words was right.

even if lucas found her, came to her and told her things she should heard, there might be two possibility.

either baram forgive him (small chance) or hates him even more.

baram is smart. baram would blame lucas because he brought her into his mess and not giving her the propper apology.

"looking for her for years, hiring men from men is just wasting your time and money lucas." taeyong said, lucas finally settling down on his seat while caressing his temple.

"no matter what, your words won't make me stop to look for baram." lucas said with stern voice, eyes piercing to taeyong, "i want her and i will always will."

"but you have seolhyun lucas! not to mention a child--"

"xiyeon may not be my biological child but i love her with all my heart! and seolhyun was just complement so xiyeon wouldn't feel abadon by her parents!"

"w-what?"

lucas froze. those words shouldn't come out like that.  the whole office could heard what he said by now since he yelled the fuck out of his lungs. there will be no doubt that tomorrow, what lucas had said would be the hot gossip of the month.

no one should know that xiyeon wasn't lucas' biological daughter.

who couldn't?

two months after their marriage, seolhyun was three months pregnant. lucas was not sure if it was his and that very night after xiyeon born, lucas took her still short hair and went to the closest lab to make a dna test.

sure enough, xiyeon wasn't his child. 

seolhyun sure have an affair with someone, the time where the last time he had sex with seolhyun is five months away before lucas' parents even arrange his marriage and it was just for distract him from thinking about baram.

"y-you're kidding?" taeyong asks after a few minutes of silence.

"should i bring you the tests results?" lucas said under exhaustion as he laid his back on his chair and let out a long sigh.

taeyong bit down his bottom lip before following lucas sigh, "a-and did you ask her who's the father?"

"no." lucas replied, "i want this baram problem fixed first before i get over to the next."

taeyong nodded his head, "fine. let me help you with baram and you deal with seolhyun."

"how?"

"i've been willing to tell you for a long long time, but i couldn't--i mean, i don't know how because the office is hectic since the six years ago project and you also happens to be in a bad place--"

"can you just get to the point?"

"my cousin, seo youngho is a friend of baram and she's been living in chicago, america for the past five years."

lucas eyes went wide with the information that taeyong just said.

"how did i know? well, he's been so active in social media these days and i happened to see his updates with baram in design class."

taeyong then look to his side, where the men that lucas hired or jeno was seating quietly since he butted in his words.

"maybe jeno's men can track them from there, chicago."

lucas' eyes then went to jeno who was still sittin on his seat, "what the hell are you still doing here? get to work!"
