five years has already passed, memories still latched and vivid yet their lives has gone back to normal--some of them.
lucas had hired too many man to find where baram have left but there's nothing change and no progress at all. everything seems to...
he opens the door of his parents unit and closed the door behind him after baram had walked inside with xiyeon sleeping soundly on her arms.
"just put her inside that bedroom." lucas said, pointing towards the first door he saw and baram didn't say anything but do what she was told before vanishing from lucas' sight.
sure he didn't love seolhyun, but telling him the truth is the least she can do to make him less hate her.
and the last person that he hoped that wouldn't betray him was his brother, but he expected too much from him and let himself down.
he doesn't know what he was doing when he took xiyeon away from seolhyun and brought her back to his parents apartment. xiyeon wasn't his child, why bother taking her away from her biological father?
but little did he knew that he cannot left xiyeon just yet, he can't separate ways with xiyeon just yet. there's too much memory he made with her that the thought of her is not her daughter wasn't bothering him. not now when everything had let him down and shatter his heart into pieces.
lucas went straight to the sofa inside the living room, didn't care how hurt his face right now and how wreck his face is.
the scene of his brother walking together with xiyeon irritates him and make lucas hard to breath. his eyes are welling up in tears but he bit his bottom lips again, trying to prevent himself from crying but he knew how much he couldn't held back the tears.
a sound of a door close grab his attention and saw baram walking out from xiyeon's room.
"she's asleep." baram said and went near lucas. a frown appears on her face as she notice the bruises and cut on the corner of her lips.

"do you have any ointment to heal your wounds?" she asks and lucas nodded his head.
"in the kitchen, the first shelf beside the fridge."
baram nodded her head and went inside the kitchen and soon enough she came back with a tray of ointment and other stuff form the cuts that have appeared on his face.
"i'm sorry, baram," lucas started while let her treat his wounds and cut, "the night didn't end as planned."
"it's okay, you didn't plan it on purpose anyway." baram replied before blowing small air to his wounds to let it dry a little bit.
minutes later, baram had cleaned up the mess she made when she helped lucas clean up his wounds and went back to the kitchen to place the kit back to it's place.
lucas went outside the balcony. he needed fresh air. he need to freshen up his mind even though he knew that he can't. the image is still playing in his mind and won't stop replying.
his chest felt heavy, like someone had push him against the wall by pushing his chest.
lucas do what he usually do, biting his bottom lip to prevent him from crying. in this kind of state, he still worries about his reputation in front of baram who was the person he begs for forgiveness.
for him, showing people that he cried was his lowest part. he can't let anyone sees him like this, not even baram.
"if you want to cry, just cry lucas." the sweet like honey voice grab his attention and without speaking another words, tears had left his eyes.
she saw baram walk closer to him and didn't hesitate to pull him into her embrace. she didn't waste any time to circle her arms around lucas' waist.
lucas didn't object and let her calm him down by caressing his back. now this is what he needs, a comforting person.
he buried his face on crook of her neck and tighten his grip around before crying his heart out.
baram said comforting words as she let lucas cry his heart out. this is the first time that lucas ever show his weak side to anyone. this is the weakest lucas that had every shown to someone.
at the end, he let baram sees his weakest side.
he realize how unlucky his life were and wanted to go back to where he doesn't have to love someone because of business and married to someone because of business.
he wanted to be loved by someone who truly loves him inside out. he wanted to be loved not because of how many fortune he can make.
to be precise, he need someone like baram.
he needs baram.
baram broke the hug and placed both of her hands on his broad shoulders before wiping off his tears with her thumb that had stained his cheeks.
lucas never see this side of baram, the one who look cared that she would do anything.
"now i know what you meant by you're broken." baram said while tracing every wounds on his face lightly before a tear left her own eyes, "i'm sorry to give you more burden to your life, i should've listen to you."
lucas shook his head and cup both of baram's cheeks to bring her attention back to lucas.
"baram, this how my life is. this is what i get to do you wrong and all of this happens because karma do exist baram."
"please, let's just stay like this for awhile," lucas said as he pulled her back into another hug and rested his chin on top of her head and let her ear rested on his chest, "i really needed this."
he felt baram nodded her head, "sure, i'm here lucas. i'm here." she said repeatedly before they both finally went silent and let their surroundings turn into a comforting scene.
"stay for the night baram," he said that took baram off guard as she push herself off from lucas by his chest as she stare back at him, "i felt like i need to explain everything to you but not tonight, not after what just happen and maybe tomorrow is the right time."
"besides, you said you wanted to meet her right?" lucas asks and baram nodded in response, "who knew you could be her step mother--ouch!"
baram give lucas a painful slap on the chest that he grunt afterwards. he flinch when baram kept on giving him punches and slap on the chest after what he just said.
a smile finally appear on lucas' face. he took baram's wrist that still busy slap lucas' chest before pulling her back to his embrace and lock her up inside his hug.
"please," lucas whisper beside her ears as he tightens his arms around her that soon enough baram stopped refusing, "don't leave me again."
